EXTERIOR
This trailer Is a very high quality trailer which has the trolley top roof which makes it very collectible and desirable. The exterior of this vintage Westcraft is in very good condition. It is very original and very intact. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. The exterior aluminum skin on this trailer is .040 inch aluminum which is much thicker than most trailer manufacturers used back in the day. These trailers were painted from the factory and from what I can tell the original color of this trailer was light blue.
Frame and a frame. It has a 4 inch channel steel frame which I feel is much better than a box tube steel frame because it will not hold moisture like a box frame can. The A-frame has been modified for a vintage tow dolly setup but the dolly wheels are no longer there. Tow dollies were used back in the 40s and 50s to help the cars towing these trailers with the hitch weight on the ball. This could easily be converted back to a standard type hitch coupler. The frame and A-frame look good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection.
Compartment door. Yes. It has a 12“ x 44“ rear trunk door. The original trunk door handle is missing but the exterior skin on the trunk door is in very good condition.
Dents scratches and damage. There are some patches on the very rear of the trailer where the original tail lights and license light and bracket were. On the street side of the unit there are two areas which have been hit with pellets from a shotgun. None of the holes penetrated the skin but just left dents. These could easily be filled with body putty. There is a small indentation on the curbside rear at the very bottom of the trailer where the bottom trim and aluminum is slightly bent in. Other than these minor flaws, the exterior skin on this trailer is very straight and dent-free.
Entry door front. Has the original aluminum entry door which is also riveted construction. The door lock is there and is the original style lock but it is not in working condition. The exterior aluminum on the door is in very good condition. The original door seal is there but is worn and missing in spots so does need to be replaced. No keys.
Entry door rear. Has the original aluminum entry door with riveted construction, however the original lock handle and lockbox are missing. The exterior skin of the door has a major wrinkle in it. No keys.
Screen door front & rear. Has the original wood screen doors. The main wood frames are in decent condition but some of the wood panels have chipped and delaminating veneer.
Entry steps. Both original entry steps are missing from front and rear door but both of the brackets are still there.
Front hoist. No.
Hitch coupler. Yes. Uses a 2 inch ball and the coupler is in working condition.
Roof and vents. Roof appears to be in fine shape with no obvious dents or damage. Has five upper windows per side in the raised portion of the roof. All of these small vent windows appear to be complete with all hardware with the exception of one which is missing the lever to open and close the window.
Exterior lights. All of the original exterior lights are missing at the rear of the trailer but it still has all four of the original beehive style marker lights on the sides which are complete with glass lenses and appear to be in good condition. Some of the steel bezels are rusty and very deteriorated. We do have new bezels for these lights on our web store. New LED tail lights have been added in the rear.
Underbelly. Has the original aluminum underbelly which is complete and intact but there are a few small patches.
Windows glass and seals. Most of the windows are original but a couple of the original sliding windows have been replaced with vintage single panel pop out windows. The sliding windows appear to be complete down to the handles that slide them but I’m sure the felt tracks will need replaced. The front and rear windows had the original Marvel brand radius windows which always have severe rust problems. These window frames were replaced with 3/8 inch thick frameless polycarbonate windows. There is no broken, missing or cracked glass.
INTERIOR
The interior of this trailer is very original complete and intact. There is some water damage to the paneling which can be expected on a trailer this old.
Cabinet and closet doors. Has all of the original cabinet and closet doors which are in very good shape. I did not see any water damage or De-lamination. All are complete with the original flush mount latches which were very cool and very modern for the day. Countertops. Has the original kitchen countertop which has a vintage basket weave pattern which is tan in color. The countertop has a lot of scratches and wear marks from years of use.
Floor. The floor is solid in all walking areas. However, I found a couple of small soft spots, one under the front curb side window and one right inside the rear door.
Floor covering. Has 12 inch tiles in the kitchen area and carpet in the rest of the areas. Table. Yes. Has the original wood drop down table which is complete with all original hardware . Wood veneer on table top is cracked and starting to delaminate. It still has 3 original steel folding chairs that went to the table on the opposite side of the couch.
Unit sleeps. Room for up to four persons.
Walls. Has all of the original birch paneling on walls and ceiling. Most of the paneling is in good condition but there are several areas that do have water stains and are delaminating.
RUNNING GEAR
Appears to be all original.
Axles and springs. The curb side rear leaf spring has broken leaves so this trailer will need to be hauled on a flatbed trailer. There are a couple of broken lug studs also.

Hitch ball height. Approximately 12 inches.
Safety chains. Has one safety chain.
