EXTERIOR
Description: This model Spartanette was the smallest one Spartan ever made, therefore it is one of the most popular models. The exterior of this trailer is in pretty good shape. It has some small dents and dings but nothing major. It still has all the original doors, windows, and vents which all appear to be in good shape. This trailer is built like an airplane with riveted construction for a long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum, which can be polished up to a mirror like shine. Questions? Call Dan ay 765-473-8088.
Bumper, Frame, & A-frame: This trailer has a 5" x 1 1/2" C channel frame, which is boxed in critical areas. The frame does have surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection. The A-frame channels are bent a little but this should not cause any issues.
Compartment Door/Keys: No.
Dents, Scratches & Damage: This trailer has some minor dents and dings but over all the exterior skin is in very good condition.
Entry Door/Keys: It has the original aluminum entry doors with riveted construction. The edge of the entry doors are bent up and torn a little where somebody tried to break in. There are a few small oxidation holes near the bottom of the doors. The rear door jamb has had a new piece of aluminum spliced in to repair the break-in damage. The original locks are missing but retrofit type kit locks have been installed. This unit does have keys for both doors. Doors will need new seals.
Entry Step: Neither the front door or the rear door has the steps installed but there is one loose step in the trailer. The brackets for the front steps are all bent up but are still there and the brackets for the rear steps are still there and look to be in good condition.
Front Hoist: It has the original front hoist but it does not work, it is rusted and froze up.
Hitch Coupler: It has the original hitch coupler, which is in working condition.
Roof: It has the original aluminum roof with all the original aluminum vents except for the furnace vent. One of the roof seams has been sealed with tar. There is also tar on a couple sides of the roof vents. The roof vent cranks will probably need new operators and seals, which we do have available on our parts e-store.
Screen Door: It has the original wood screen door. The main wood frame looks to be in pretty good shape but the wood trim and center slider will need rebuilt. The screens are still in pretty good shape and there is a cool adjustable screen guard on the bottom screen. The rear screen door is the same as front door except the top of screen is pushed out and needs replaced.
Tail, License & Marker Lights: It has the original KD 520 taillights with chrome bezels and glass lenses. The bezels and lenses appear to be in good condition. It has the original KD 540’s. Glass lenses and bezels are in good conditions. Has the original license plate light and bracket. The red glass lens is good but the clear lens for the bottom is missing. The light housing and bracket are very rusty.
Underbelly: The original underbelly is only approximately 25% intact. They used an insulation type board, which just did not hold up. When restoring we usually tear off the old underbelly then undercoat the entire bottom of the trailer.
Window Glass/Seals: It has all of the original aluminum windows on the front and sides. All of these windows are complete with hardware and screens. The rear windows are original with steel frames. The steel frames are badly rusted. We do have a secret fix for these windows because the original windows are impossible to find in good condition. All windows have old original seals, which should be replaced.
INTERIOR
Description: The interior of this trailer is mostly original and in fair shape. There is a quite a bit of water damage on paneling but the floor is good and solid.
Cabinet - Closet Doors: It has all the original cabinet doors, closet doors, and drawers. They are all in pretty decent shape.
Catches: Yes, original.
Countertops: Yes, it has the original countertop with a red basket weave pattern. The countertop is in nice shape.
Floor: The floor is solid in all areas. One area by the front door and one area by the back door has had new plywood installed.
Floor Covering: It has the original linoleum, which is in fair to poor shape.
Table: No.
Unit Sleeps: There are currently only 2 bed bases in the rear bedroom but there is room for up to 3-4 people to sleep.
Walls: It has the original Birch paneling on the walls and ceiling. There are several wall panels, which will need to be replaced and one ceiling panel.
RUNNING GEAR
Description: It has the original running gear with leaf spring suspension and a 4" dropped axle. We hauled this trailer on a flatbed to get it here so the bearings were not re-packed. See NOTE*
Axle/Springs: When we retrieved this trailer it was sunk in the ground up to the hubs. The leaf springs are rusty but still appear to be in good shape however the hubs will need to work in order to get the brakes working and be safe to tow. Several of the lug studs have severe rust issues and should be replaced before towing the trailer on the road. One might consider replacing the entire axle if the trailer will be towed a lot. See NOTE*
NOTE* All lug studs were replaced, wheel bearings were inspected and re-packed and new tires and wheels were installed 5-28-19 as part of the sale of this trailer.

Hitch Ball Height: Approximately 18 inches.
Hitch Ball Size: 2 inch.

Tire Conditions: It has old 7:00-15 LT bias ply tires with weather-checking. Has older wheels, one is a split rim and the other is not a split rim with 6 lug pattern with 5-1/2" bolt circle. Tires do hold air but I would recommend having this trailer hauled on a flat bed verses towing it on the road. See NOTE* above.

Bed/Mattresses: It has both of the original bed bases in the rear bedroom, which measure 72" x 32". There currently are no mattresses.
