EXTERIOR
The exterior of this trailer is very original and mostly intact. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum that can be polished up to a mirror like shine.
Frame and a frame. A-frame channel on street side of trailer is badly rusted with large gap and hole. We added 2“ x 2“ square steel tubing the entire length of the A-frame channel so that it could be towed home safely. Rest of frame that is accessible for inspection has surface rust but seems to be good and solid.
Dents, scratches and damage.The main body is in pretty decent shape but the radius corners have lots of dents and dings. See photos.
Entry door front. Has the original aluminum entry door with riveted construction. Door has original Bargman lock which is in working condition but there is no key. Door has some small oxidation holes. Door still has the original interior vinyl covering which is in poor shape but makes a great pattern. Door will need new seals.
Entry door rear. Has the original aluminum entry door with riverted construction which is in good shape. Has some very small scratches and dings. Has the original Bargman door lock which is in working condition except the H 20 handle is broken. I believe these are still available. No keys. Interior vinyl door cover is still there but in poor condition but again works great for a pattern. Door will need new seals.
Steps. Both slide out steps are missing but the brackets are still there. Front hoist. Has the original front hoist but it is not in working condition. Hitch coupler. Has the original coupler, has surface rust but is in fine operating condition.
Roof and Vents. There is no apparent damage on the roof and it has all the original vents with the exception of the furnace vent which is missing. It is covered with a tin can to keep water out. There is no tar ,caulking or sealer on the roof.
Screen doors. Front door has original screen door and fair condition. Rear screen door is not mounted but is in the trailer loose.
Exterior lights. Has three of the four original KD-540 teardrop shaped marker lights with glass lenses and stainless steel bezels. Two of the glass lenses look good the other one looks like it maybe got water on the inside of it and froze it. It looks like there iare internal cracks even though I don’t feel cracks on the outside. The 3 stainless steel bezels that are there are in good condition. Has the original Bargman brand tail lights with glass lens and stainless steel bezels. One tail light is missing the glass lens. Has the original license plate light but no bracket. We do have the brackets available on our website. Original lights are un-tested. Temporary tow lights have been added to the rear of the trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Underbelly. Trailer had a thick tar paper type underbelly covering which is pretty well shot. We normally just tear off the old material and undercoat the entire bottom side with automotive undercoating.
Windows. Has most of the original Air-o-Lite brand aluminum windows however the front curb side window has been replaced with a newer style. The front center window has plexiglass which has several stress cracks in it. The original rear windows are missing and has had plexiglass installed there and the plexiglass does have stress cracks. All opening windows are complete with hardware. All windows will need new seals.
INTERIOR
The interior of this trailer is restorable but sort of rough. It still has some of the original components but some are missing.
Cabinet and closet doors. The original kitchen cabinets and sink are missing but the closets, drawers and bed bases are still there and in good condition.
Catches. Original.
Countertops. No.
Floor. Floor is solid and most walking areas except in front of the front door. There are soft spots in the floor on the front 1/3 of the trailer.
Floor covering. Carpet and original linoleum both and poor condition.
Table. No.
Unit sleeps. Currently there are only two beds in the trailer but there is room for up to four persons to sleep.
Walls. Has the original birch paneling but there are several stained and delaminating panels, mainly underneath the windows.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the exception of newer tires and wheels. Wheel bearings have been inspected and repacked. We towed this trailer approximately 300 miles with no problems.
Axles and springs. Has the original axles with leaf spring suspension which have surface rust but all appears to be good and solid.
Dry weight. 3680#
Hitch ball height. Approximately 18 inches.
Safety chains. No.
Hitch weight. Approximately 442#
Hitch ball size. 2 inch.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No.
Tire condition. Has newer ST225-75R 15 radial tires with load range D. Tires are mounted on newer non-split gray spoke rims with five lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle. Tires do not show any weather checking.
FURNISHINGS
Beds. Yes, has the original twin beds in the rear which are 73“ x 32“. These beds still have the original bases made from aluminum framing and covered with Birch. Both beds have mattresses which are in fair to poor condition.
Couch. No.
Curtains. No.
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical system. Some outlets and lights do work and some don’t. Entire electrical system and appliances should be check by a certified expert before use.
110 V lights. Yes. But most are not original.
12 V lights. Yes. Has one original 12 V light in kitchen but is untested.
Brakes. Yes. But untested. One brake shoe was removed because the wheel did not spin freely. Brake shoe is in trailer loose.
Breakaway switch. No.
Converter. No.
Interior fans. No.
Plug for exterior lights. Yes. Has a four prong flat plug like most current boat trailers use.
Porch light. No.
RV battery. No.
LP SYSTEM
Most of original LP system is missing. However, most of these items should be replaced for safety reasons anyway. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
Automatic change over. No.
Furnace. No, but a large baseboard heater has been added.
Gas bottles. No.
Gas lights. No.
Gas regulator. No.
Range oven. No.
Refrigerator. No.

No plumbing currently in trailer.

SPECIAL
This trailer is the perfect size to turn into a weekend camper. It is lightweight and easy towed by most SUVs. The interior floor plan could be changed around and a bathroom added for convenience.
