EXTERIOR
The exterior of this vintage Spartan is very original, very intact and pretty straight. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction and aircraft grade aluminum for long life and durability.
Frame and A-frame. Frame has minor surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid in all areas assessable for inspection.
Dents, scratches and damage. This trailer has some hail damage on roof and upper panels but otherwise the exterior is very straight and dent free. Entry door front. Has the original aluminum entry door, which has the cool port hole style window. Door has new retrofit style lock with two keys. Lock is in good working condition. Door has minor damage near lock where someone apparently tried to break in. Door will need new seals. Entry door rear. Has the original entry door with port hole window. Has the original Bargman lock which is complete and in working condition but no keys. Door skin is in good condition with the except of exception of some very minor oxidation at very bottom of door. Door will need new seals.
Screen door front. Has the original wood screen door, which is in fair to good condition. Has a nice screen guard on it as well.
Screen door rear. Has the original wood screen door which is in fair condition.
Steps. Has both of the original aluminum slide out steps, which are in good working order.
Front hoist. Has the original front hoist which is in working condition.
Hitch coupler. Has the original cast iron hitch coupler which is in working condition.
Roof and vents. Roof has hail damage. (see photos) Has all the original aluminum vents.
Exterior lights. Has all of the original exterior lights. The marker lights are KD 540s with stainless steel bezels and glass lenses. All glass lenses appear to be in good condition. Tail lights are KD 520s with glass lenses and chrome steel bezels. Both glass lenses appear to be in good condition. Has the original, KD brand license light and bracket. Red lens on licensed light is cracked and bottom clear glass is missing. Original lights are untested. Will need temporary tow lights to tow trailer home safely. We can provide these for additional cost.
Underbelly. Has the original underbelly which is a hardboard type material. Underbelly is 95% intact.
Windows, glass, and seals. Has the original front plexiglass windows which are showing some wear, but there are no cracks or holes. Has the four original slider windows, which are complete with screens, latches and handles with the exception of one window is missing a handle. Has the Marvel brand rear window, which is complete with screen. This window is steel and has minor surface rust, but is still in good and restorable. All windows will need new seals.
INTERIOR
The interior of this vintage Manor is very original, very intact and very complete, even down to the original appliances and light fixtures. Cabinets. Has all of the original birch cabinets and closets which are in good condition.
Cabinet hardware. Original.
Countertops. Has the original stainless steel countertop on each side of the kitchen sink and the original countertop and backsplash to the left of the stove. Both are in good condition.
Floor. Floor is solid in all areas.
Floor covering. Has the original linoleum floor, which is in poor condition. Table. No.
Unit sleeps. Currently only one bed in the trailer, but there is room for up to four persons to sleep.
Walls. Has the original birch paneling on walls and ceiling. Most of it is in good shape, but there are a few panels that will need replaced.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the exception of new tires and wheels. We pulled the grease caps and there was adequate grease so we did not repack the bearings. We towed the trailer over 350 miles with no issues. I would recommend that the bearings be inspected and re-packed if towing a long distance. We can do that work here for an additional charge. Axles and springs. Original with surface rust, but everything appears to be good and solid.
Dry weight. 3700 pounds.
Hitch ball height, approximately 18 inches.

Hitch weight. Approx. 450#
Hitch ball size. 2 inch.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No.
Tire condition. Has newer. LT235-75R 15 six ply Michelin brand tires mounted on newer black spoke rims with six lugs on 5 1/2 half inch bolt circle.
FURNISHINGS
Bed mattress. Has the original aluminum framed bed base wrapped in birch with a 51“ x 72“ mattress. Mattresses in fair condition.
Couch. No.
Curtains. Yes, some curtains.
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical system with Westinghouse boxes with four automatic reset circuit breakers. All 110 V lights and outlets are in working condition. Entire electrical system should be checked by a certified expert before use.
110 V lights. Yes. Has the original brass wall sconces on the walls and the original fluorescent lights under the cabinets and in the kitchen. All lights are in working condition.
12 V lights. Yes. Has 1 original 12 V light in the kitchen area. Light is untested.
Brakes. Yes, has electric brakes which are in working condition but will need wired into a current style plug at the front of the trailer.
Breakaway switch. No.
Converter. No.
Plug for exterior lights. No.
Porch light. Yes. Has the original bell type porch light which is in working condition.
RV battery. No.
LP SYSTEM
Most of the original LP system is missing. However, these items should be replaced anyway for safety reasons. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
Furnace. Yes. Has the original Duo-Therm brand oil heater. Untested. Gas lights. No.
Gas regulator. Yes, there is an old one on the unit, but I’m sure it will need to be replaced.
Range-oven. Has the original Dixie brand 20 inch gas stove with oven and four burners on top. Porcelain on stove is in very good condition. Stove is complete with all racks, knobs and stove grates. Untested.
Refrigerator. Yes. Has the original Frigidaire brand 110 V refrigerator. We plugged it in and it does cool.
Water heater. No.
PLUMBING
Has the original plumbing. Did a visual inspection and did not see any cracked or broken lines. Air test the water lines and there were only slow leaks through the faucets. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Freshwater tank. No.
Kitchen sink. Yes. Has a two bowl stainless steel sink with stainless steel counter on both sides. Sink and counter are in good condition.
Lavatory. Yes. Has the original aluminum shaving sink in the bedroom area of the trailer.
Shower. No.
Toilet. No.
City water intake valve. Yes.
SPECIAL
Finding unmolested original Spartans like this one which are over 70 years old are next to impossible to find. This trailer even has all the original paperwork and owners manual which came with the trailer when it was new. I don’t expect this trailer to hang around for very long so if you are interested, act now. It would make a nice Christmas gift for yourself.
