EXTERIOR
The exterior of this trailer is very original and mostly complete. There are some minor dents and dings but nothing major. This trailer is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum that can be polished up to a mirror like shine.
Frame and A frame. The frame has some surface rust but appears to be good and solid in all areas assessible for inspection.
Compartment doors. No.
Dents scratches and damage. The worst damage is on the street side top radius, which has several small dings and scrapes. This damage is barely visible from the ground. Other than that there are just minor dents and dings here and there. See photos.
Entry doors. It has the original aluminum entry doors with riveted construction. These entry doors are the best quality entry doors I have ever seen on any trailer. They are over 3 inches thick at their thickest point then taper down to approximately an inch and a half. These doors have the cool porthole style windows. The door skins are in very good shape with only very minor flaws. Both of the exterior door handles are broken. We do offer these in our parts e-store. There is a key in the front door which we could not get out and there are no keys for the rear door.
Front and Rear Screen Door. It has both of the original wood screen doors but they are in poor condition. They either need to be rebuilt or replaced. We do offer a replacement screen doors on our parts e-store.
Steps. The front door has the original aluminum slide out step, which is in good condition. The rear step is in the trailer loose. It is complete but does need some repairs.
Front hoist. It has the original front hoist, which is in working condition.
Hitch coupler. It has the original cast-iron hitch coupler, which is in working condition. It takes a 2 inch ball.
Roof and Vents. It has the original aluminum roof. It is very dirty but there does not appear to be any damage, tar, or caulking added to the roof. It has all of the original aluminum roof vents and all they open and do have screens.
Exterior lights. It has 4 newer vintage style LED teardrop marker lights. It does have the original KD 520 tail lights plus vintage Trail-lite number two taillights have been added. All these have glass lenses. The glass lenses appear to be in good shape and the bezels are in good shape also. It has the original license plate light and bracket, the glass lens appears to be in good shape, but the taillight housing and license bracket are rusty. The lights are untested but temporary tow lights have been added in the rear of the trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Underbelly. It has the original underbelly, which is a Masonite type board. The underbelly is approximately 50% intact. We normally tear off this old material then just spray the entire underside with a good quality automotive undercoating.
Windows glass and seals. It has all of the original windows, which are complete with all hardware and screens. It has the original three Plexiglass windows in the front. These windows do not have any cracks or holes but they do have surface scratches and are showing wear. We do offer UV stabilized poly carbonate windows as a replacement. It has the original crank up quarter windows in the rear bedroom, which are complete with handles and escutcheons. One of these windows cranked up and down fine the other one did not but I was afraid to force it. The rear window has plexiglass which has been sealed shut with clear caulking. All windows will need new seals.
INTERIOR
The interior of this trailer is very original, mostly complete, and in nice condition.
Cabinet and closet doors. It has the original cabinet and closet doors, which are in good condition.
Catches. Yes, they are original.
Countertops. Yes, it has the original countertops with a gray basket weave type pattern. The countertops are in decent condition.
Floor. The Floor is solid in all areas. There are several areas where new plywood has been installed.
Floor covering. It has the original Linoleum in most areas, which is in poor condition.
Table. It has the original table with booth seating. The tabletop is in good pretty condition and it has the gray basket weave pattern that matches the countertops.
Unit sleeps. There is room for up to six people.
Walls. It has birch paneling throughout on both the walls and ceiling. One ceiling panel around the front roof vent does have some stains and delamination but otherwise all the birch paneling is in very good condition.
RUNNING GEAR
It has the original running gear with the exception of brand new tires and wheels. Before towing we pulled the hubs and sprayed all the bearings with WD-40 then we tow the trailer approximately 300 miles with no problems.
Axles and Springs. It has the original drop axles with leaf spring suspension. These have surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid.
Dry weight. Approximately 5200 pounds.
Hitch ball height. Approximately 18 inches.
Safety chains. No.
Hitch weight. Approximately 625 pounds.
Hitch ball size. 2 inch.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No.
Tire condition. It has four brand new 7:00-15LT bias ply tires with 10 ply rating mounted on new non-split silver modular rims with six lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle.
FURNISHINGS
It has some of the original furnishings.
Bed mattress. No.
Couch. No.
Curtains. No.
Dinette cushions. Yes. It has the original dinette with what appears to be the original cushions. The original cushions are still in decent shape.
ELECTRICAL
Electrical. It has the original electrical system with two breaker boxes with automatic reset circuit breakers. It has a new 15 amp motor base power supply plug. Most of the 110 V lights and outlets are in working condition. Entire electrical system and appliances should be check by a certified expert before use.
110 V lights. Yes, it has all of the original lights except for the front two lights in the living room. They appear to be vintage but not original. All of the incandescent lights do work and all but two of the fluorescent lights do work.
12 volt light. Yes, it has one in kitchen area, which is original but is untested.
Brakes. Yes, it has electric brakes on both axles, which are in working condition.
Breakaway switch. Yes, it has brand new Tekonsha brand breakaway kit, which is wired up and in working condition.
Converter. Yes but it is untested.
Interior fans. Yes, but neither one are currently working.
Plug for exterior lights. Yes, it has a brand new seven way connector like most current RVs use.
Porch light. Yes, it has the original bell type porch light. It is untested.
RV battery. No.
LP SYSTEM
Most of the original LP system is missing, however most these items should be replaced for safety reasons anyway. Entire LP system and appliances should be check by a certified expert before use.
Automatic changeover. No.
Furnace. Yes, the original furnace is gone but a newer Suburban brand furnace has been added. The furnace is untested.
Gas bottles. No.
Gaslights. No.
Gas regulator. No.
Range oven. Yes, it has a newer 20 inch Sunray brand gas range with four burners on top and the oven below. All burners do light.
Refrigerator. Yes, it has the original Frigidaire brand refrigerator. We plugged it in and it does cool.
Water heater. Yes, it has the original Payne brand electric water heater. It is untested. Water heater capacity is six gallons.
PLUMBING
Plumbing. It has the original plumbing with copper freshwater lines and copper and brass drains. I did a visual inspection and did not see any cracked lines or any lines that were disconnected. However, the water system was not tested with water. Entire plumbing system and appliances should be check by a certified expert before use.
Air pump. No.
Freshwater tank. No.
Kitchen sink. It has the original two bowl kitchen sink, which is stainless steel and has a stainless steel counter. The sink is in good condition.
Lavatory. Yes, it has the original aluminum lavatory, which appears to be in good condition.
Shower. Yes, it has the original shower, which is a wet bath system.
Toilet. Yes, it has a vintage Mansfield toilet but I do not believe it is original. The toilet is untested.
Tub. No.
Waste holding tank. No.
Water intake valve. No.
Water pump. No.
SPECIAL
For the interior and exterior being unrestored this trailer is in very nice condition. A trailer in this condition cost much less to restore then one that can be bought dirt cheap but is in rough shape.
OTHER
This trailer comes with a new reproduction owner’s manual.
