EXTERIOR
The exterior of this vintage Spartan is pretty nice overall. There are some minor flaws but overall it is pretty straight. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has an aircraft grade aluminum exterior that can be polished up to a mirror like shine.
Frame and A frame. The frame has surface rust but appears to be solid in all areas accessible for inspection, however the A-frame does have some major rust issues. We installed our A-frame reinforcement kit to get the trailer back to our shop but would highly recommend having it transported on a flatbed verses towing it on the road.
Dents scratches and damage. The worst dent is on the rear of the trailer up high on the driver side. There is a dent about the size of a basketball. The interior panels could be removed and most of this dent could be knocked out from the inside. There are some minor dents and dings on the lower wraps. There is a section of about 3 foot long of rub rail that is smashed behind the front door and needs replaced. We do offer this straight rub rail on our parts e-store. All of the corner rub rails are in pretty decent shape.
Entry door front. Has the original aluminum entry door with the cool porthole style window. Has the original Bargman lock and lockbox but the handles are broken. Entry door will need new seals. Exterior skin on door is in decent shape.
Entry door rear. It also has the original entry door with the porthole window and has the original Bargman lock but both handles are broke. Door will need new seals. Exterior skin on door is in pretty decent shape with only minor flaws.
Screen door. Front. Has the original wood screen door which is in fair condition. Screen door is missing in rear.
Entry steps. Both entry steps are inside the trailer in a closet one is totally shot the other one I believe is repairable. The brackets for the steps are still on the trailer but one is bent.
Front Hoist. Has the original front hoist which is in working condition.
Hitch Coupler. Has the original hitch coupler which is in working condition.
Roof & Vents. Has all of the original aluminum vents on the roof with the exception of the furnace vent is missing. The roof has no apparent damage but has been coated with a silver Cool Seal type roof coating.
Exterior lights. The original marker lights are missing but it still does have the original KD 520 tail lights with glass lenses and chrome bezels. Also has the original license plate light and bracket. The glass lens looks to be in good shape but the bracket itself has rust. Temporary LED tail lights have been added to the rear of the trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Underbelly. This is one of the few 1950 Spartans that had an aluminum underbelly. It is about 60% intact. The underbelly aluminum behind the axles has been removed.
Windows. Has the original Marvel brand steel framed window in the rear. Normally these are pretty rusted out but this one appears to only have surface rust and is salvageable. All the original sliding windows are there complete with all hardware with the exception of missing one screen. The bathroom window is missing the frame and glass. It would be pretty easy to make a small polycarbonate window for this. The front plexiglass windows are there but in poor shape and needing replaced. We do offer these replacement windows made from UV stabilize polycarbonate. All window seals are old and should be replaced.
INTERIOR
The original interior is still there and mostly intact but has severe water damage. This would be a great trailer to gut out the interior and re-design the floor plan exactly like you want it.

RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the exception of new tires and wheels. Wheel bearings have been recently repacked.
