This trailer is being sold on consignment for a previous customer of Vintage Campers. The owner of the trailer has provided a description of the trailer below. We have posted tons of photos of the exterior and interior but if you have any specific questions we will try to answer them for you. Please call Dan at 765-473-8088.
Title- Good title, serial no. 6083
Length- 27’ overall with added trunk.
Weight- 3500 #
Tongue weight- Approx. 350#
Exterior- Body is in overall very good condition for its age. The exterior has been professionally polished and clear coated by the best in the business. The clear coat not only keeps the trailer from ever needing re-polished; but also gives it an incredible “platinum” look. The trailer does have some minor beauty marks.
- Multiple dents in the front panel of trailer
- Crease on curb side of trailer above fender
- Aluminum was sanded at some point and shows scratches in the metal.
This trailer has a custom made rear trunk added by the previous owner who was an engineer. The trunk also serves as a spare tire holder and is very well designed and made. All the lights have had the lenses removed and most/all the lenses are in a box inside the trailer. Front window glass is cracked. Door-in-door screen door is in good condition. Has a non-original lamp bulb on top of the trailer.
Tires- newer tires in very good condition
Frame- Minor surface rust on exposed parts of frame. There is a good chance of having some minor frame rot issues with a trailer of this age. Has a hydraulic tongue jack that was added at some point.
Belly Pan – Very good original condition. Has only a few small patches.
Subfloor- Very soft in front of gaucho and most likely in rear as well.
Appliances- Has original oil furnace and fridge. Does not have a range/stove. Appliances are un-tested.
Cabinetry- Original Cabinetry mostly intact and in good condition. Has some unusual features that are neat and may not be factory original.
Interior- Very neat and interesting interior. Condition would be considered fair/good. Most everything is there and looks decent
Plumbing and Electrical- Not tested. Has an interesting lamp bulb on top of the trailer that was added at some point in time.
What this trailer has to offer- This trailer was owned by a mechanical engineer who added some interesting features to the trailer such as the rear trunk, roof lamp, and hydraulic tongue jack. This trailer would be a great candidate for a restoration. The woodworking is very nice and unique and would make for a wonderful trailer. This trailer would also look great as a custom “steampunk” build. The trailer has a lot to offer and will make a great finished product.
