EXTERIOR (Price Reduced)
The exterior of this trailer is mostly original and in pretty nice shape. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft great aluminum that can be polished up to a mirror like shine. Has the original doors, windows and vents, as well as all the original exterior light fixtures. Unlike most 35 foot Spartanettes, this one does not have the steel body parts like most of the later models had . Those steel parts being window frames, corner radiuses, and rub rails. On this trailer they are all aluminum, no steel body parts at all.
Frame and A-frame. One side of the A-frame has severe rust damage. We have reinforced this area with square steel tubing and U-bolts. We towed this trailer over 800 miles with no issues. The rest of the frame has surface rust, but appears to be good and solid in all areas assessable for inspection. These Spartans had very short A-frames making it easy to do damage to the front lower aluminum skins. Since this A-frame needs replaced anyway, it would be real easy to make the new A-frame longer to eliminate this problem.
Dents, scratches and damage. There are some dents in the front of the trailer from someone turning too sharply. Plus the driver side rear has a few minor dents and scratches. Otherwise, the body is nice and straight.
Entry doors . Has the original aluminum entry doors which are both in nice shape. The front door has had a hasp added to it. Both the original door handles are missing and someone has added handles made from pipe. Both doors still have the original lock boxes which are in working condition, but we have no keys. Both doors still have the original interior vinyl cover, which are in fair shape, but if nothing else that can be used for a pattern. Doors will need new seals.
Screen doors. Has both of the original wood screen doors. The main wood frames are in pretty decent shape but the trim that holds the screen on needs replaced.
Steps. Both of the original step brackets are there, but only one step is present and it is inside the trailer loose.
Front hoist. aHaHHas the original front hoist which is in working condition.
Hitch Coupler. Has the original hitch coupler which is in working condition, takes a 2 inch ball.
Roof and Vents. The roof does not look to have any damage but it has been coated with tar and silver roof coating in several areas. This same coating got on sidewall in a few areas.
Exterior lights. Has all four of the original KD 540 marker lights with glass lenses and stainless steel bezels. All these appear to be in good shape. Has both of the original Trail-Lite number 2 lights with glass lenses and steel bezels. Glass lenses appear to be in good shape and bezels have surface rust. Also has the original Bargman license plate light & bracket. Both the red lens and clear cylindrical lens are in good shape. Bracket does have some surface rust. None of the original lights have been tested. Temporary tow lights will need to be added in the rear to tow the trailer home. Underbelly. Has the original underbelly with an insulation type board. Underbelly is approximately 75% intact.
Windows . Has most of the original windows and most are complete with all hardware and screens. All windows have original seals which will need to be replaced.
.There is one window with a small crack in the glass. All the others are fine.
