EXTERIOR
Description: This vintage Spartan has a nice straight exterior shell and an interior with pretty nice birch woodwork. It definitely needs a good cleaning but has really good bones so it would make a great restoration project. Questions??? Please call Dan at 765-473-8088.
Bumper, Frame, & A-frame: This trailer has a 5“ x 1 1/2“ channel steel frame. It has surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection.
Compartment Door/Keys: No.
Dents, Scratches & Damage: This trailer has some very small dents and dings and a few small patches. The bottom radius, which goes from the side to the bottom of the trailer is bad and is needing replaced. This trailers exterior does have some steel parts so the exterior was painted silver. The corner radiuses, rub rails, door jambs, and some window jambs are steel but all the exterior skin is aluminum. I have seen where people paint the steel parts dark gray then polish the aluminum and it really looks nice.
Entry Door/Keys: It has the original aluminum entry doors with riveted construction, which are in pretty nice shape. It has the original lock boxes on the interior but the exterior locks have been changed to a newer T-handle.There are no keys. Doors will need new seals.
Entry Step: It has both the front and rear steps, which both have surface rust. The step brackets will need some work or replaced.
Front Hoist: It has the original top wind front hoist, which is in working condition but could stand to be lubricated.
Hitch Coupler: It has the original hitch coupler with 2 inch ball. The coupler is in working order.
Roof: It has the original roof with steel panels and riveted construction. There is no obvious damage to the roof except for one 24 in. Square patch where the furnace vent originally came up through roof.
Screen Door: The front has the original screen door but it needs repaired and a new screen. The rear screen door is missing.
Tail, License & Marker Lights: It has all four of the original KD 540 marker lights with steel bezels and glass lenses. All glass lenses appear to be in good condition. It has the original Bargman trail light #2 tail lights with steel bezels and glass lenses. The glass lenses appear to be in good condition. It has the original license plate light but the clear lens and bracket are missing. Temporary tow lights have been added to the rear of trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Underbelly: It has the original underbelly with a Masonite board, Which is approximately 60% intact. When restoring, we normally just tear all this old material off and undercoat the bottom of the trailer with a good quality automotive undercoating.
Window Glass/Seals: It has all of the original windows except for the center window in the front. windows are complete with hardware and screens except for a few. Most windows have steel jams but all the windows have aluminum frames that hold the glass. There are five panels with cracked glass. These have been taped up to keep water out. All windows will need new seals.

Floor: The floor seems to be solid in all areas accessible for inspection.
Floor Covering: It has carpet over most of original flooring, which is in poor condition.
