EXTERIOR

This Spartan is commonly referred to as a double ender, as the front of the trailer and the rear of the trailer on the exterior look identical. Exterior is mostly original and is really not as bad as it looks. The front windows have been covered with aluminum which really makes it look ugly. We do offer these new windows made from poly carbonate on our parts store.
Frame. Main frame rails do have some surface rust but everything looks good and solid in all areas assessible for inspection. A couple of the cross members in the rear are slightly bent. The front A-frame does have some severe rusting with pit holes which should be addressed before the trailer is towed any long distance.
Dents scratches and damage. The worst damage is on the front of the trailer on passenger side where there are some dents and dings. There are some dents and some corrosion holes in the bottom wraps of the trailer. Overall the body is pretty straight and not too bad.
Entry door. Front door is the original aluminum front door with the cool porthole window. It looks like the front door has had a rough life and should be re-skinned to look really nice. Rear door is the original aluminum entry door with the porthole window . Skin on door is in pretty nice shape with only some very minor dents. Both doors will need new seals.
Steps. Both slide out steps are missing but both brackets are there. The brackets on the front door are bent up and will need straightened out. We do offer the new slide out steps on our parts e- store. Front Hoist. Has the original front hoist but it is rusted and froze up.
Hitch coupler. Yes ,has the original hitch coupler which is in working condition and takes a 2” ball.
Roof and Vents. Roof is in good shape with no apparent damage.
Screen doors. Both wooden screen doors are missing but we do offer these screen doors on our parts e-store. The hinges are still there for the screen doors.
Exterior lights. Has the original Bargman Trail-Lite #2 tail lights with glass lenses and stainless steel bezels. One glass lens does have a crack but no pieces are missing so it could be glued. The original KD 520 marker lights have been replaced. It still have the original license plate light and bracket. Temporary tow lights have been added to the trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Underbelly. Has an insulation type board underbelly on the front 2/3 of the trailer and the back one third of the trailer the insulation material has been removed.
Windows. Has most of the original windows, however, it is missing the small bathroom window frame and glass. One of the larger window frames is in the trailer loose. There are a couple of windows with cracked glass. It will need the new curved windows on both the front and rear. We do offer these windows made from polycarbonate on our parts e-store. The front will need the new polycarbonate center window also.
INTERIOR
The interior of this trailer is in pretty rough shape, however, it still does have the vintage stove and refrigerator, the kitchen sink, bathroom lavatory and shower in the trailer.
Floor. Floor is in bad shape and will need to be replaced.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original axles and running gear. We pulled the grease caps and there was adequate grease so we towed it approximately 65 miles with no issues and the hubs remain nice and cool. One hub has all new bearings and races because the grease cap was missing.
Axle/Springs. Has Linco brand independent torsion axles with coil springs wrapped around the axle tubes.
Dry Weight. 6387#
Hitch ball height. Approximately 18 inches.
Safety chains. No.
Hitch weight. Approximately 750#
Hitch ball size. 2 inch
Tire condition. Has four brand new 7:00-15 LT 10 ply bias tires mounted a new non-split silver modular rims with six lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical box and wiring but nothing has been tested. Entire electrical system should be checked by a certified expert before use
Brakes. Both axles came with electric brakes but electric brakes have not been tested.
LP SYSTEM
Has the original LP rack which will hold two LP cylinders and the hose and regulator which all are all in the trailer loose. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
PLUMBING
Looks like most of the original lines have been replace with PVC but it does still have the original aluminum shower, lavatory sink and kitchen sink.
SPECIAL
This vintage Spartan would be a great trailer to gut out the interior and start fresh. That way you can have a custom designed floorplan that works the best for you and your needs. This trailer is priced very well and won’t last long.
