EXTERIOR
The exterior of this vintage Spartan is mostly original and pretty nice. There are some small patches, flaws, dents and dings but nothing major. It Is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum that can be polished up to a mirror light shine.
Frame. Frame has surface rust but appears to be good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection.
Dents Scratches and Damage. The bottom wraps in the rear have several dents. There is a small slice and dent in the aluminum above the front driver side curved window. There are a few other small dents and dings, but overall the exterior of this trailer is pretty nice and straight.
Entry Door Front. Has the original aluminum Spartan entry door. Door has some minor oxidation and small dents but no holes. The aluminum is wrinkled by the striker from where someone tried to break in. Has a Bargman brand L 66 lock which is in working condition but no keys. Keys can be made by any good locksmith. It still has the original interior vinyl cover which is In poor condition but would work great for a pattern.
Entry Door Rear. Has the original aluminum entry door. The skin has some small dents and dings but overall is in pretty nice condition. Has a Bargman brand L 66 lock which is in working condition but no keys. Again, any good locksmith can make keys. Both doors have old seals which should be replaced.
Screen Doors. Front door is missing the screen door but rear door has the original screen door. The framing is in good condition but will need new screens.
Step. Front step is missing but original brackets are still there. Rear step is there but needs work or replaced. We do offer these replacement steps on our website.
Front Hoist. Has the original front hoist. Has surface rust but is in good working condition.
Hitch Coupler. Has the original cast iron hitch coupler which has surface rust but is in fine working condition.
Roof. Has the original cambered aluminum roof with riveted construction. A cambered roof is much better than a flat roof because it sheds water better and can hold up to heavier snow loads in winter climates. There is a big dent at the rear of the roof but no holes or punctures that would cause leakage. Overall the roof is in good condition and has never had any roof coating, tar or sealer put on it. The roof does have all the original aluminum vents which appear to be in good condition.
Exterior Lights. Has all the original marker lights, taillights and license plate light. These have surface rust and are showing wear and should be replaced. We have added temporary tow lights in the rear so that the trailer can be towed home safely.
Underbelly. Has the original aluminum underbelly which is approximately 85% intact and has your typical oxidation. There are some small areas where the aluminum is missing.
Windows. Has the original plexiglass curved windows in the front. One is cracked and they both have scratches and cloudiness. We do offer new poly carbonate windows for these on our website. Has two nice picture windows in the living room area for a good views. All of the opening windows are there and complete with the exception of one in the living room which has solid glass and is non- opening. All other windows are complete with hardware and screens, however the two rear windows have been sealed shut. All windows have old seals which should be replaced.There Is no cracked, broken or missing glass.
INTERIOR
The interior of this trailer is mostly original but is in pretty rough shape and pretty dirty. It looks like it has been well used.
Cabinets and Closet Doors. Has the original birch doors which are in pretty good shape. There are a few that have veneer which is chipped or missing.
Catches. Original.
Countertops. Has the original kitchen countertops with matching backsplash. Countertops are white with a gray speckled pattern. Countertops are in fair condition but do you show wear from use. Bathroom countertop has newer Formica, but no edge trim.
Floor. Has soft spots in both the front and the rear of the trailer. One plywood panel in the front and one in the rear should be more than enough to fix it. All of the other areas seem to be solid.
Floor covering. Has tiles in the kitchen and bath area which is in poor condition. Has carpet in the living room and bedroom area which is in fair condition.
Table. No. But there is a dining area across from the kitchen which has plenty of room for a freestanding table.
Unit sleeps. Currently there are no beds in this trailer but there is room for 4 persons to sleep.
Walls. Has the original birch paneling on walls and ceiling. Paneling has a fair amount of water damage and varnish is peeling and flaking.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the exception of brand new tires and wheels. Wheel bearings have been inspected and repacked.
Axles and Springs. Has the original axles with leaf spring suspension. They have surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid.

Hitch Ball Height. Approximately 20 inches.
Safety Chains. No.
Hitch weight. Approximately 830#
Hitch Ball Size. 2-5/16 inch.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No.
Tire Condition. Has four brand new 7:00-15 LT 10 ply bias tires mounted on new conventional non-split rims with six lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle.
FURNISHINGS
Most of the original furnishings are missing from this trailer. However, there is a loveseat and chair which are not original still in the trailer.
Bed/Mattress. No.
Couch. Yes.
Curtains. No.
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical system. The breaker box has 4 automatic reset circuit breakers. All lights and 110 V outlets do you work. Entire electrical system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
110 Lights. Yes. Has most of the original light fixtures, however some are missing the globes. All lights are in working order.
12 V lights. No.
Brakes. Yes, it has electric brakes on both axles and brakes are in working condition.
Breakaway Switch. Yes. Has a brand new Tekonsha brand breakaway kit with battery.
Converter. No.
Interior Fans. Yes, it has a fan over the stove and one in the bathroom but neither one is currently working. There are mud dobbers nests in the fans assemblies keeping them from rotating.
Plug for Exterior Lights. Yes. Has a brand new seven way plug like post current RVs use.
Porch light. Yes. Has the original bell type porch light which is in working order
RV battery. No.
LP SYSTEM
Most of the original LP system is missing, however most of these items should be replaced for safety reasons anyway.Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
Automatic Changeover. No.
Furnace. No.
Gas Bottles. No.
Gas Lights. No.
Gas Regulator. No.
Range/Oven. Yes, has a Pre-way brand gas wall oven which looks to be complete but is untested. It has a separate Pre-way brand four burner gas range top. It is missing a burner and knobs and is also untested.
Refrigerator. Yes. Has a newer Whirlpool brand electric refrigerator. Refrigerator is untested.
Water Heater. Yes. It has an electric water heater which I would guess is approximately 20 gallons. Untested.
PLUMBING
It has the original copper and brass drains. It has the original copper freshwater lines, plus some of those copper lines have been replaced with polybutylene tubing. I did a visual inspection and did not see any cracked or disconnected lines, however we have not tested the system with air or water. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Air Pump. No.
Fresh Water Tank. No.
Kitchen Sink. Yes. Has the original 2 bowl kitchen sink. Porcelain is badly chipped up.
Lavatory. Yes. Has a non-original lavatory with several chips and porcelain.
Sewer Holding Tank. No.
Shower. Yes. Has a combination tub shower. Original shower faucet has been modified with a redneck version.
Toilet. Yes. Has a non-original house type Crane brand toilet. Untested.
Tub. Yes. Has a 28" x 41" tub. Tub has seven non-skid round disks plus 1 large chip and several small chips in porcelain.
SPECIAL
This is the perfect size Spartan if you are wanting to convert it to a large camper. It can be pulled with most trucks and has lots and lots of room and lots of character. It would also make a nice tiny home or guest trailer.
