EXTERIOR
The exterior of this trailer is very original, very intact, and very straight. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for a long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum that can be polished up to a mirror like shine.
Frame and A-frame. Has surface rust, but appears to be solid in all areas assessable for inspection.
Dents, scratches and damage. Has some small dents on the rear at the bottom wraps and a small dent in front of the rear step. Other than those, the exterior is very nice, sweet and straight.
Entry door front. Has the original aluminum entry door with the cool porthole style window. Door has an aluminum patch around the original L 66 Bargman lock. Lock is in good working condition. Does have one key for the lock, but it works sort of hard. Skin on door is in very good condition. Door will need new seals. Door still has the interior vinyl cover, which is in poor shape but is great for a pattern.
Entry door rear. Also has the original aluminum entry door with the cool porthole style window. Door has a couple of very small dents and a half inch carriage bolt by the lock, but overall is a nice condition. Has the original Bargman brand L-66 lock, which is in working condition, but no keys. Door will need new seals. Original interior vinyl covering is still on door which will need replaced but works great for a pattern.
Screen door. Both the front and rear door has the original screen doors, which are aluminum and in good shape.
Entry steps. Both doors have the original entry steps which have surface rust, but are in good working condition.
Front hoist. Has the original front hoist which is in working condition.
Hitch coupler. Has the original cast-iron hitch coupler which is in working condition but could stand to be lubricated for smoother operation.
Roof. Roof is very dirty from being parked underneath trees, but I do not see any damage whatsoever. It does not look like any tar or roof coating has ever been added on roof.
Exterior lights. Has the original exterior lights which are showing a lot of wear and should probably be replaced. Temporary tow lights will need to be added to tow this trailer home. We can provide these for an additional charge.
Underbelly. Has the original aluminum underbelly which is all intact. There are a couple of panels which have some small oxidation holes and one panel is hanging down a little.
Windows. Has all the original windows, the front curved plexiglass windows do not have any cracks or holes, but they are a little cloudy. All of the opening jealousy windows are complete with all hardware, and all of them have good screens, except a couple of them. There is no broken, missing or cracked glass. All windows will need new seals.
INTERIOR
The interior of this vintage Spartan is mostly original, intact and in very good shape. It is a two bedroom model which is very desirable. Has most of the original light fixtures and the woodwork is in pretty nice condition.
Cabinet and closet doors. Original, yes, in good condition. A couple of cabinet doors have had locks added.
Catches. Yes, original.
Countertops. Has the original pink countertops which are usable but showing some signs of wear.
Floor. Floor is solid in all areas except in the bathroom area, where there are some soft spots.
Floor covering. Has old carpet in most areas which needs replaced.
Table. Yes, has a very cool vintage table with porcelain top with design on it.
Unit sleeps. Currently no beds in this trailer but room for up to six persons to sleep. Walls. Has the original birch paneling, which is in pretty nice condition. There are some very small areas with water stains, mainly underneath some of the windows. Ceiling has the original birch panels which are in nice shape.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the exception of new tires and wheels. We pulled the grease caps and there was adequate grease, so we did not repack the wheel bearings. I would suggest they get inspected and repacked before any long trip. We can do this for an additional charge.
Axles and springs. Has the original axles with leaf spring suspension. Have surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid.
Dry weight. 8600#
Hitch ball height. Approximately 19 inches.
Safety chains. Yes.
Hitch weight. Approximately 1000#
Hitch ball size. 2-5/16 inch.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No.
Tire condition. Has four brand new 7:00-15 LT 10 ply biased tires mounted on new non-split rims with six lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle.
FURNISHINGS
There are no mattresses, couches or curtains in this trailer currently.
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical system. We put a temporary plug on the supply line so that we could test the lights and outlets. Most of the outlets and lights are in working condition. Entire electrical system should be checked by a certified expert before use.
110 V lights. Yes. Some are original and some have been replaced with other vintage style lights.
12 lights. No.
Brakes. Yes. Has electric brakes on both axles. Brakes are in working order. Breakaway switch. No.
Converter. No. I
Plug for exterior lights. Yes, has a new seven way plug like most current RVs use. Porch light. Yes. Has the original bell type porch light. Untested.
RV battery. No.
LP SYSTEM
Most of the original LP system is missing but these items should be replaced anyway for safety reasons. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
Furnace. Yes. Has the original International brand oil burner which is untested.
Gas bottles. No.
Gas lights. No.
Gas regulator. No.
Range oven. Gas has the original Preway brand oven, which is untested and has the original four burner stove but two of the burners are missing. Stove is untested.
Refrigerator. Yes. Has a newer electric refrigerator which is in working condition.
Water heater. No.
PLUMBING
Has the original plumbing system with copper freshwater lines and copper and brass drains. Several of the freshwater lines are disconnected. Water system is untested. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Freshwater tank. No.
Kitchen sink. Yes. Has the original two bowl porcelain sink. Porcelain has a couple of chips in it.
Lavatory. Yes, has the original lavatory. However, the porcelain is pretty chipped up.
Sewer holding tank. No.
Shower. Yes. Has a tub shower combo.
Toilet. No.
Tub. Yes, has a 42“ x 28“ bathtub. There are a couple of large chips in the porcelain. Waste holding tank. No.
Water pump. No.

This vintage Spartan has lots of room and is in really nice condition for an unrestored trailer. It has a great exterior skin and the interior is very nice and mostly original.
