This trailer is being sold on consignment for the customer who originally bought the trailer from us.
EXTERIOR
The exterior of this vintage Spartan is very original ,very intact and pretty straight. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum that can be polished up to a mirror like shine.
Frame and A-frame. A frame is good and solid and in nice shape. The rest of the frame has some surface rust, but appears to be good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection.
Dents, scratches and damage. There is no major damage on the exterior of this unit but it does have some small dents, dings and scrapes.
Entry door front. Has the original aluminum entry door which has the cool porthole style window. Has the original style Bargman L-66 lock which is in working condition and does have keys. The bottom of the door is pushed in a little but it still functions fine. Door has had new seals installed.
Entry door rear. Also has the original aluminum door with the cool porthole style window. It has the original style Bargman L-66 lock which is in working condition and does have keys. The exterior skin on the door is in very good condition but there is a very small crease at the top corner of the door. This door also has had new seals installed. Both doors have new stainless steel hold backs.
Screen door front. Has a new oak custom made screen door built like original one.
Screen door rear. Has the original wood screen door, which is still in pretty nice condition. Some of the trim that holds the screen on is de-laminating a little bit.
Steps. Has both of the original pull out steps at the front and rear door. Both steps function fine but do have some surface rust.
Front hoist. Has the original front hoist but it is froze up and does not crank up or down. May just need to be lubricated or may need to be replaced.
Hitch coupler. Has the original cast iron hitch coupler with 2-5/16 inch ball which is in good working condition.
Roof and Vents. Has two of the original aluminum crank up vents which are in working condition and a roof air conditioner has been added. There is no apparent damage to the roof, but there has been one area that has been patched. Both roof vents operate correctly and do have new seals.
Exterior lights. Has all four of the original teardrop style marker lights. Newer tail lights have been added in the rear, which are very similar to the original ones. Has the original license plate, light and bracket.Exterior lights are un-tested.
Underbelly. Has the original aluminum underbelly which has your typical oxidation, but overall is in nice shape. There have been a couple holes cut behind the axles for access to plumbing, I believe.
Windows. Has the original curved plexiglass windows in the front, which are in decent shape, but one does have some stress cracks. It looks like the seals on these windows have been replaced. Has all the original two piece opening windows on the sides and rear. These windows are complete with all hardware and screens. I believe all these windows have the original seals which probably should be replaced. There is no broken, cracked or missing glass.
INTERIOR
The interior of this trailer is mostly original, complete and intact. It has the original Birch wood work, original lights, original stove and refrigerator and the bathroom is still intact.
Cabinets and closet doors. Has the original birch cabinet doors, cabinets and drawers. All of these are in good shape but the two cabinet doors below the kitchen sink do have some of the lamination at the very bottom.
Catches. Yes, original.
Countertops. Has the original countertops with matching backsplash and a very cool retro design. Countertops are in nice condition.
Floor. Floor is good in all areas.
Floor covering. Has new 12 inch tiles throughout.
Table. No. But there is plenty of room for a freestanding table and chairs.
Unit sleeps. Currently there is space for about four people to sleep, but there is room to add more.
Walls. Has the original birch walls and ceiling which is in good shape, but there are a few panels with some minor water stains, mainly underneath the windows.
RUNNING GEAR
Has what I believe is the original running gear with the exception of new tires and possibly newer hubs.
Axle. Has the original 4 inch drop axle with leaf springs. We pulled the grease caps and there is grease around the bearings but we did not inspect and repack the bearings. The axle has surface rust, but all appear to be in good condition.If towing this trailer real far, I would recommend have the bearings inspected and re-packed with grease. This is something that our shop can do for an additional expense.
Dry weight. 8600#
Hitch ball height. Approximately 18 inches.
Safety chains. No.
Hitch weight. Approx. 1000#
Ball size 2 5/16 inch.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No.
Tire condition. Has newer 14.5 x 8 bias ply tires with a 14 ply rating. Tires are in good condition, almost like new.
FURNISHINGS
Bed mattress. Has a newer IKEA stacked bed system with storage drawers below.
Mattresses are 39“ x 74“ and stack on top of each other or it can be pulled out to have two 39'” x 74” sleeping areas. .
Couch. Yes, has a new 48“ x 78“ couch. Back pillows can be removed to convert to a bed.
Curtains. Yes, trailer does have some curtains in the front and rear, but where there are no curtains there are some very nice high quality, pull down blackout shades.
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical box with four automatic reset circuit breakers. A new 30 amp plug has been added for the power supply cord which is approx. 20' long. All lights and outlets are in working condition. Has what I believe are all of the original interior lights There may have been one light added that is not original. Entire electrical system should be checked by a certified expert before use.
12 V lights. No.
Brakes. Yes, has brakes on both axles which I believe are in working condition.
Breakaway switch. Yes. Has newer Tekonsha brand breakaway switch with battery. This is a safety device that will apply the trailer brakes if the trailer becomes disconnected from the tow vehicle.
Converter. No.
Interior fans. Yes, it has an exhaust fan over the stove and an exhaust fan in the bathroom and both are in working condition.
Plug for exterior lights. Yes, has a new seven way plug like most current trailer use.
Porch light. Yes. Has the original Spartan Bell type porch light which is in working condition.
Doorbell. Yes, has the original Spartan doorbell which "dings" but does not "dong". May just need adjusted??
LP SYSTEM
Yes. The LP system has been updated with new tanks, LP pigtails, and regulator. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
Automatic changeover. Yes. This is a regulator that switches from one tank to the other when the one tank goes empty.
Furnace. No. But the original electric heater is still in the bathroom and works great.
Gas bottles. Yes. Has 2-20 pound LP cylinders with the new OPD valves.
Gas lights. No.
Range oven. Yes. Has the original Dixie stove with four burners on top and oven below. Oven is complete with all grates, knobs and wire shelves. Oven also has the window in the oven door so you can see what’s cooking. Owner did not use oven so it is currently not hooked up but oven was in working condition when they purchased the trailer from us 3-4 years ago.
Refrigerator. Yes. Has the original Frigidaire refrigerator. Refrigerator is complete with all shelves, crisper and door shelves. Refrigerator is in working condition.
Water heater. Yes. Has a new Richmond brand electric water heater with 15 gallon capacity.
PLUMBING
Has new Pex plumbing with shut off valves for the fresh water and brass and PVC drain lines for the waste water. Has newer water softener system in the trailer loose which was only used for 2 seasons.
Freshwater tank. No.
Kitchen sink. Yes, has the original 2 bowl kitchen sink and a new faucet with hand sprayer.
Lavatory. Yes, has the original lavatory which is in good condition. It also has a new faucet.
Sewer holding tank. No.
Shower. Yes. Has the original tub shower combo. Shower has original brass faucet and riser with newer, handheld shower and hose attached to it.
Toilet. Yes. Has a newer house type toilet with tank.
Tub. Yes. Has a 24“ x 54“ bathtub.
Waste holding tank. No.
Water intake valve. Yes.
SPECIAL
This trailer was parked at a lake/resort for weekends and was lived in during the Summer months. It is ready to use, but there are still some improvements that could be made. This is a very cool very original Spartan, which is in very nice shape and has tons of room. This trailer was originally a two bedroom model with bedroom in the front and bedroom in the rear. This could easily be converted back to a two bedroom, if you so desire.
Air conditioning. Yes. A Coleman air conditioner has been added to the roof. It is in working condition.
Microwave. No.
Stabilizer Jacks. Yes, it does have six of the tripod type stabilizer jacks, which are in the trailer loose.
OTHER
