EXTERIOR
The exterior of this trailer is very original and intact and in pretty decent condition. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum that can be polished up to a mirror like shine.
Frame and A-frame. Has surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection. The very front of the A-frame is bent a little where the coupler bolts on.
Dents scratches and damage. There are some small dents, dings and flaws on this trailer but nothing major. (see photos) Overall the trailer has a nice exterior skin.
Entry door front. Has the original aluminum entry door which is in fair to poor shape. It is missing the original Bargman L-66 lock but a deadbolt lock has been added. There are several dents and tears on the bottom half of the door and a doggie door has been added. Door will need new seals. No keys. We do offer a new entry doors on our parts e-store.
Entry door rear. Has the original aluminum entry door which is in decent shape. It still has a vintage Barman L-66 lock but it is missing the lock cylinder. Otherwise, it seems to function fine. A deadbolt has been added. There are some small dents on the skin of the door but nothing major. Door will need new seals. No keys.
Screen doors. Front door is missing the screen door but the hinges are still there for it. Rear door has the original aluminum screen which is in good condition. It looks like a small section of the aluminum was modified for installing the deadbolt lock.
Steps. Step for front door is missing, however brackets are still there. Rear door step is there, it has surface rust and is bent up but can probably be saved with a little work.
Front hoist. Has the original front hoist which is in working condition. It could stand to be lubricated.
Hitch coupler. Has the original hitch coupler which is bent up a little and has surface rust. The coupler still functions, you just have to make sure that you get the mechanism locked securely before towing.
Roof and Vents. Has the original aluminum cambered roof. A cambered roof is much better than a flat roof because it is stronger and sheds water better and can hold up to heavier snow loads in winter climates. The roof appears to be in good condition with only minor dents and dings. No caulking, tar or goop has ever been added to the roof except there is a little bit of sealer around the furnace vent.
Exterior lights. All four of the original marker lights are missing and newer marker lights have been added. Has the original recessed tail lights which are in fair condition. We do offer new stainless steel tail lights to replace these. Has the original license plate light and bracket. Temporary LED tow lights have been added at the rear of the trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Underbelly. Has the original aluminum underbelly. There are some small holes behind the axles and some patches but overall it is in pretty decent condition.
Windows. Has all of the original windows except the rear one. The front curved plexiglass windows have some scratches and scuffing from age, but I do not see any actual cracks. The original seal is missing from the driver side front curved window but this whole seal should be replaced anyway. Has all of the original aluminum windows which open. These windows are complete with hardware and screens but two window levers are missing and some of the screens are torn. There are three windows that do have cracked glass. All windows have original seals which should be replaced.
INTERIOR
The interior of this trailer is very intact and mostly original, however most of the original appliances have been replaced. This was originally a two bedroom model with a bedroom in the very front and a bedroom in the very back. The front bedroom wall was removed to make the living area larger. This could be left as is or changed back to a two bedroom model.
Cabinet and closet doors. Has original Birch cabinet doors, closet doors and drawers. All appear to be in good shape but a few do you have chipped veneer on the bottom corners.
Catches. Most are original and in working order.
Countertops. Kitchen has the original countertops with matching backsplash. Counter- tops are a pinkish red color and are in decent shape but do show some wear from use. Bathroom has original countertops with matching backsplash. It is white with black speckles and is in decent condition.
Floor. Floor appears to be solid in all areas except for one small area under one of the windows in the living room. There is a two square-foot area that will need replaced. Floor covering. Has 12 inch tiles in the kitchen, dining and living area which are in poor condition and has carpet in the bedroom, bathroom and hall which is in fair condition.
Table. No. But there is a dining area set up for freestanding table and chairs.
Unit sleeps. Currently there is only one bed in the unit but there is room for up to six persons to sleep in this trailer.
Walls. Has the original birch paneling on walls and ceiling. Paneling is in good shape overall, however there are a few water stains mainly underneath the windows. The paneling under the front window is split in a couple of areas.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the exception of brand new tires and wheels. Wheel bearings have been inspected and repacked. We towed this trailer over 750 miles with no problems.
Axles and springs. Has the original axle with leaf spring suspension. These have surface rust but appears to be good and solid.
Dry weight. 9400#
Hitch ball height. Approximately 20 inches.
Safety chains. No.
Hitch weight. Approx. 1130#
Hitch ball size. 2 5/16 inch.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No.
Tire condition. Has 4 brand new 7:50 x 16 LT 10 ply bias tires mounted on new non-split rims which are silver mod rims with six lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle.
FURNISHINGS
Bed mattress. Yes. Has a hospital type bed in rear bedroom.
Couch. No, but has wood loveseat/bench.
Curtains. No.
ELECTRICAL
A newer and larger square D brand box has been added as well as a new 50 amp plug. Breaker box has eight automatic reset circuit breakers. All 110 V outlets and lights are in working condition. Entire electrical system and appliances should be check by a certified expert before use.
110 V lights. I think all but one of the lights are original and all lights are in working condition.
12 V lights. No.
Brakes. Yes. Has brakes on all four wheels which are in working condition. All hubs have newer modern brake assemblies.
Breakaway switch. Has has a brand new Tekonsha brand breakaway kit with battery. Converter. No.
Interior fans. Has three interior fans, one at the stove, one behind where the original wall oven was and one in the bathroom. All of the interior fans are in working condition. Plug for exterior lights. Yes. Has brand new seven way plug like most current RVs use. Porch light. Yes. Has the original bell type porch light which is in working condition.
RV battery. No.
LP SYSTEM
Most of the original LP system is missing, however most of these items should be replaced for safety reasons anyway. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
Automatic changeover. No.
Furnace. Yes. Has a Intertherm brand gas furnace which is untested.
Gas bottles. No.
Gas lights. No.
Gas regulator. No.
Range oven. Yes, has a 20 inch Magic Chef brand gas stove with four burners on top and oven below. Porcelain is in very good shape and looks to be complete with all racks, grates and knobs. Stove is untested.
Refrigerator. Yes. Has a GE brand refrigerator which is in working condition.
Water heater. Yes. Has a Intertherm brand 20 gallon electric water heater. Untested.
PLUMBING
I did a visual inspection of the plumbing and it looks like the freshwater lines have been replaced with polybutylene lines and the original copper drains lines are still intact. I tested the water system with air and it held pressure so there are no busted or dis-connected water lines. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Air pump. No.
Freshwater tank. No.
Kitchen sink. Has the original t2 bowl kitchen sink. Porcelain is in decent shape but has been touched up in a couple of areas.
Lavatory. Original lavatory has been replaced with a newer lavatory which is in good condition.
Sewer holding tank. No.
Shower. Yes has tub-shower combo.
Toilet. Yes. Has a newer house type toilet, untested.
Tub. Yes. Has a full size 60 inch tub. Porcelain is in good shape but has been touched up in a couple of areas. Has newer tub surround with built-in shelves.
Waste holding tank. No.
Water intake valve. Yes.
Water pump. No.
SPECIAL
This is a nice large Spartan which could be your primary residence or a vacation home or even a guest house in your backyard. This trailer was lived in approximately two years ago and has been well-maintained.
OTHER
Air conditioning. Yes has an old roof top air conditioner. Untested.
Awning. No.
Microwave. No.
Stabilizer jacks. No.
TV antenna. No.
