EXTERIOR
Description: The exterior of this trailer is pretty nice. It has the original doors and windows which are in decent shape. There are some minor dents and small patches but over all the exterior skin is in nice shape. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft Grade aluminum which can be polished up to a mirror like shine. Questions??? Please call Dan at 765-473-8088.
Bumper, Frame, & A-frame: The street side frame rail has severe rust issues and the outrigger behind the axles has rust holes and is bent on one side. The trailer was not safe to tow this way so we reinforced the one side of the A-frame with a 1-1/2” x 5” steel angle which is 1/4” thick. The rest of the frame that is visible for inspection just had surface rust with no major issues. If this trailer is going to be parked permanently I would not go to the expense of repairing the A-frame, however if it is going to be towed, I would replace the one in a frame rail and reinforce the one outrigger. We towed this trailer over 700 miles with no problems.
Compartment Door/Keys: No
Dents, Scratches & Damage: This trailer has a few small dents, wrinkles and patches but overall is very nice. There is some oxidation with holes on the bottom wraps mainly on the curb side of the trailer, however this is a pretty easy fix.
Entry Door/Keys: Entry door. Front Has the original aluminum entry door which is in nice condition. .There is a three-quarter inch cut and some small dents at the bottom of the door. Door has the original art deco style Bargmen brand L 66 lock which is in working condition. No keys. Door still has the original vinyl cover on the interior which is in poor condition but would be great for a pattern. Door has original seals which should be replaced. Entry door rear. Has the original aluminum entry door which is in decent shape but does have some small dents. Has the original art deco style Bargmen brand L 66 lock but it is missing the exterior handle. No keys. The rear door also has the original interior vinyl cover which is in poor condition but great for a pattern. Rear door has original seals which should be replaced.
Entry Step: Step. Front. Has the original galvanized steel slide out step which is in working condition. Step rear. Has the original steel brackets but step is missing.
Front Hoist: Has the original hoist which has surface rust but is in working condition.
Hitch Coupler: Has the original hitch coupler which is in working condition.
Roof: Has the original aluminum cambered roof. A cambered roof is much better than a flat roof because it sheds water better and can hold up to heavier snow loads in winter climates. There is no obvious damage to the roof and we have sealed all the roof seems with Acrylic R sealer. It looks like all the original aluminum vents are there and in good condition. The one crank up vent will need new seals and a new operator.
Screen Door: Screen door front. Has the original aluminum screen door which is in good condition. Top screen has a glob of sealer on it. Screen door rear. Has the original aluminum screen door which is in good condition.
Tail, License & Marker Lights: Has all four of the original beehive style marker lights with glass lenses and steel bezels. All the glass lenses appear to be in good condition and the steel bezels have surface rust. Has the original tail lights which are in poor condition and needs replaced. Temporary tow lights have been added to the rear of this trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Underbelly: Has the original aluminum underbelly. The underbelly in front of the axles is complete and in decent shape but the underbelly behind the axles has one panel that is missing and others that are loose.
Window Glass/Seals: Has all of the original aluminum windows except for under the two picture windows in the living room area has newer aluminum windows but they look really nice. All of the windows look to be complete with hardware and screens. Some of the mitered corners of the window frames are separating and will need to repair. Has the original Plexiglas curved windows in the front which have some minor scratches and scuffing but no cracks. All windows have original seals which should be replaced.
INTERIOR
Description: Interior is very original and very complete but it does have a little water damaged paneling. The new birch paneling is readily available and changing the panels is not a big deal.
Cabinet - Closet Doors: Has all the original cabinet doors, closet doors and drawers add all are in good shape.
Catches: Yes. Original in working condition.
Countertops: Has the original counter tops which have a vintage pattern with gray specs. There is a matching backsplash that has had contact paper put over it. Normally this peels off really easily. Countertops do you show a little wear from use but are still in good usable condition. Bathroom countertops has vintage pattern with shades of gray black and white. Bathroom countertop is in good condition.
Floor: Floor is solid in all walking areas but has a soft spot in the rear bedroom under one of the windows and a soft spot in the living room under one of the windows.
Floor Covering: Has ugly yellow carpet tiles which are in poor condition.
Table: Yes. Has the original dropleaf kitchen table which matches the kitchen countertop and has the original chairs. Table is in decent shape but the black trim on the edges could stand to be replaced.
Unit Sleeps: There are currently no beds in the trailer but there is room for 4 to 6 persons to sleep.
Walls: Has Birch paneling on walls and ceilings. A small ceiling panel in kitchen area has some water damage and should be replaced. There is some minor water damage on some wall panels which most people can probably live with. If you want the interior wood perfect you will want to replace these panels.
RUNNING GEAR
Description: Has the original running gear with the exception of new tires and wheels.
Axle/Springs: Has the original axles with leaf springs, these have surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid. We sprayed the bearings with WD-40 then checked the hubs when towing and they never got hot. We towed this trailer over 700 miles with no problems.

ELECTRICAL
Description: Has the original electrical system with breaker box with 4 automatic reset circuit breakers Spartan was a high-quality trailer which used all copper wiring. The 110 V outlets do work. Electrical system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
110 Volt Lights: Yes. Has All the original light fixtures however two fixtures are missing shades. Most of the light fixtures do work.
12 Volt Int. Lights: No
Brakes: Yes. Has brakes on both axles which are in working condition.
Breakaway Switch: Yes. Has brand new Tekonsha brand breakaway kit.
Converter: No
Int. Fan(s): Yes. Has a fan in the bathroom and one over the stove both are in working condition but the one over the stove needs a new chain for opening and closing the fan cover.
Plug for Ext. Lights: Yes. Has a seven way plug like most of the current RVs use.
Porch Light: Yes. Has the original bell type porch light which is in working condition.
RV Battery: No
LP SYSTEM
Description: Most of the original LP system is missing but most of those items should be updated anyway for safety reasons. LP system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Auto Changeover: No
Furnace: Yes. Has the original international brand oil burner furnace. Untested.

Range/Oven: Yes it has the original 30 inch Dixie range with four burners and a griddle on top and a oven below. Oven has what looks like one original grate and one replacement grate. Oven is complete with all knobs handles and racks. All burners do light.
Refrigerator: Yes. Has the original Frigidaire electric refrigerator. Refrigerator appears to be complete with all shelves trays and slide out bins. The refrigerator does cool.
Water Heater: Has the original Skelgas brand gas water heater untested.

PLUMBING
Description: Has the original plumbing with copper fresh water lines and copper and brass drain‘s. Did a visual inspection and did not see any disconnected broken or cracked waterlines. We have not tested the water system with water. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.

Fresh Water Tank: No
Kitchen Sink: Yes has the original 2 bowl kitchen sink. Porcelain is showing some wear from use and does have a couple spots that have been touched up.
Lavatory: Yes has the original bathroom lavatory does have some big rust stains near drain.

Shower: Yes.Has a tub shower combo. It still has the original Adjusto brand faucet with showerhead. This is a cool Faucet that swings up to use it as a shower and swings down to fill the tub.
Toilet: Yes. Has the original Mansfield brand tank type toilet.
Tub: Yes. Has the original tub, porcelain looks to be in pretty good shape but there are a couple spots that have been touched up.
Waste Holding Tank: No

SPECIAL
Description: This Vintage Spartan would be a great restoration project since it is very original and very intact and has a nice exterior.

Description: This vintage Spartan has lots of room and lots of possibilities. It could be used as a tiny home or would be great to park on a lake or river for a vacation home.
