EXTERIOR
Description: The exterior of this vintage Spartan is very original and very intact. It is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum that can’t be polished up to a mirror like shine. It has a few dents and flaws but nothing real bad. Questions??? Please call Dan at 765-473-8088.
Bumper, Frame, & A-frame: Frame and A-frame has surface rust but everything looks good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection.
Compartment Door/Keys: No
Dents, Scratches & Damage: This trailer does have a few dents and dings but nothing that is not repairable. The bottom radius has some oxidation with holes but again this is a pretty easy fix.
Entry Door/Keys: Entry door front. Has the original aluminum entry door with the original Bargman brand L 66 lock. Lock functions correctly but we have no keys. Any good locksmith can make keys. Skin of door has a dent/wrinkle at the bottom. Door still has original vinyl cover on the inside which is in poor condition but still great for a pattern. Door has original seals which should be replaced. Entry door rear. Has original aluminum entry door which is in pretty good condition. It is missing the original L 66 Lock. The door skin is in very nice condition. Door has the original vinyl interior cover which is in poor condition but makes a great pattern. Door has original seals what should be replaced.
Entry Step: Step front. Has the original step and bracket which are both rusty. Brackets look to be in good condition but step is in poor condition. Step rear. No.
Front Hoist: Yes. But is rusted badly and froze up.
Hitch Coupler: Yes. Has the original Marvel brand hitch coupler which is in working condition.
Roof: Has the original roof which is a cambered aluminum roof. A cambered roof is much better than a flat roof because it is better for water run off and can hold higher snow loads in winter climates. There has not been any tar, roof coating or caulking added to the roof. There is no apparent damage to the roof.
Screen Door: Screen door front. Yes. Has the original aluminum screen door which is in good condition. The bottom screen has been replaced with perforated aluminum. Screen door rear. Yes. Has the original aluminum screen door which is in good condition but one of the small slider sections need a new screen.
Tail, License & Marker Lights: Has all four of the original beehive style marker lights with glass lenses and steel bezels. All the glass lenses look to be in good condition and the bezels are good but do you have surface rust. Has the original tail lights which are in poor condition. Has the original license plate light and bracket which has surface rust with some pitting. Temporary tow lights have been added to the rear of the trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Underbelly: Has the original aluminum underbelly which has your typical oxidation but over all is in pretty decent shape
Window Glass/Seals: Has the original plexiglass windows in the front corners. The plexiglas has some scratches and showing some wear but I do not see any holes or cracks. These front curved windows are popped out of the rubber gasket in some areas. Has all of the original aluminum windows which open but three windows have operators that are bad or missing. It looks like most of the windows have screens, some are installed and some are in the closet loose. All opening windows will need to be restored and have new seals put on them.
INTERIOR
Description: The interior is mostly original and very intact. This is a two bedroom model which is very popular and it has the walk-through bathroom which is laid out very nicely.
Cabinet - Closet Doors: Original and in decent shape.
Catches: Mostly original and in decent condition.
Countertops: Has the original counter tops. The kitchen counter top has a cool vintage pattern with an aqua color and has a matching backsplash. The countertop is showing some wear but is still in usable shape. The backsplash is in good condition. The middle bedroom countertop is original and in decent condition. The bathroom counter top is also original and in decent condition.
Floor: Floor is solid in all walking areas with the exception of the rear bedroom which has soft spots and holes under street side windows. The majority of the floor has been built up with new plywood laid over the top of the original floor.
Floor Covering: Carpeting in poor condition
Table: No. But there is plenty of room for a freestanding table and chairs.
Unit Sleeps: Currently there are no beds in the trailer but there is room for 6 to 8 persons to sleep.
Walls: Has the original birch paneling on walls and ceilings. Most of the birch paneling is in decent condition but there are a couple of panels that may need replaced. The birch paneling is still readily available at most lumber stores.
RUNNING GEAR
Description: Has the original running gear with the exception of brand new tires and wheels. We sprayed wheel bearings with WD-40 and towed trailer approx. 200 miles with no problems.
Axle/Springs: Has the original axles with leaf spring suspension. Axles and springs have surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid.

Hitch Weight: Approx. 1000#.
Hub Caps: No
Safety Chains: No
Spare Tire: No
Tire Conditions: Has four brand new 7:50 x 16 LT bias ply tires with 10 ply rating. Tires are mounted on new non-split rims with a six lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle.
FURNISHINGS
Description: There are no free standing furnishings with this trailer.
Bed/Mattresses: No
Couch/Gaucho: No
Curtains: No
Dinette Cushions: No
ELECTRICAL
Description: Has most of the original electrical system. Breaker box has three automatic reset circuit breaker’s. Spartan was a high-quality trailer which used all copper wiring. Most 110 lights and outlets do work. Electrical system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
110 Volt Lights: Yes, most are original and in working condition.
12 Volt Int. Lights: No
Brakes: Yes has electric brakes on both axles which are in working condition.
Breakaway Switch: Yes. Has brand new Tekonsha brand breakaway kit.
Converter: No
Int. Fan(s): Yes, but neither one is currently working.
Plug for Ext. Lights: Yes, has brand new seven way plug. This is the same plug that most current RVs use.
Porch Light: Yes. Has the original bell type porch light. Not currently working.
RV Battery: No
LP SYSTEM
Description: Most of original LP system is missing however most of this should be upgraded for safety reasons anyway. LP system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Auto Changeover: No
Furnace: Yes. Has a Home brand gas furnace. Un tested.
Gas Bottle(s): No
Gas Light(s): No
Gas Regulator: No
Range/Oven: Yes. Has the original Dixie brand 30 inch gas stove. Has four burners on top with a griddle in the middle and the oven below. Oven has the two wire shelves, all the knobs and handles but is missing the top stove grates.
Refrigerator: No
Water Heater: No, Is missing but has nice big area in closet for one and already has the roof vent to vent a gas water heater.
PLUMBING
Description: Has the original plumbing with copper fresh water lines and copper and brass drain‘s. Did a visual inspection and did not see any cracks waterlines. We did an air check and found leaks in the line(s) going to the bathtub so plan on doing some plumbing. We did not test the water system with water. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Air Pump: No
Fresh Water Tank: No, none of the Spartans originally came with water tanks.
Kitchen Sink: Yes, has the original 2 bowl kitchen sink. Porcelain is in decent condition but are several areas that have been touched up.
Lavatory: Has the original bathroom lavatory that is rusted badly with holes and needs repaired or replaced.
Sewer Holding Tank: No
Shower: Yes. Has the original Adjusto faucet which swings up for the shower position and swings down for the tub position.
Toilet: Yes. Has a newer house type toilet. Un-tested
Tub: Has the original 60 inch tub, porcelain is in good condition.
Waste Holding Tank: No
Water Intake Valve (City): Yes
Water Pump: No
SPECIAL
Description: This trailer has lots of room and lots of potential. Yes, it will need some work but is a great unit to start with since it has good and solid bones. It could be used as a guest house, parked on a river or lake or even be used for your primary residence. For those people who want to scale back and simplify their lives, Spartans are a great choice since they typically increase in value if they are taken care of.
