EXTERIOR

The exterior of this vintage Spartan is very original, very intact and very straight. It has all the original windows, doors and vents. This trailer is built like an airplane with riveted construction for a long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum that can be polished up to a mirror like shine.
Bumper, Frame, & A-frame: Frame and A-frame do you have some minor surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection.
Compartment Door/Keys: No
Dents, Scratches & Damage: The biggest dent on this trailer is on the street side front bottom radius which has a small dent that is approximately 9”x 3”. There is a very small dent on the curbside rub rail with a 3”x 2’ hole below. Other than that there are only very, very minor dents and dings that are too small to even be seen in the photos.
Entry Door/Keys: Has the original aluminum entry doors which are in very nice shape. They have the original Bargman brand L 66 locks which are in working condition and does have keys. The original vinyl hinge covers are deteriorated and needing replaced. We do have these available on our parts e-store. The interior vinyl covers are still on the doors and are in fair shape. Doors have original seals which probably should be replaced.
Entry Step: Both steps are there and have surface rust but front step is bent and the metal is cracking and needs repair.
Front Hoist: Has the original front hoist which is in working condition.
Hitch Coupler: Has the original cast iron Marvel brand hitch coupler which is in working condition. Uses a 2-5/16” ball.
Roof: Has the original aluminum cambered roof. A cambered roof is much better and stronger than a flat roof. It is curved for better water run off and it can handle heavier snow loads in winter climates. No tar, caulking or sealer has ever been put on the roof. All the original aluminum vents are there and in good condition. The roof has no apparent damage.
Screen Door: Has the original aluminum screen doors on front and rear doors and both are in good condition.
Tail, License & Marker Lights: Has all four of the original bee hive type marker lights with glass lenses and steel bezels. All the glass lenses appear to be in good condition with no cracks. The steel bezels have surface rust but I do not see any holes. Has newer taillights that are like the original ones. Has the original license plate light and bracket. None of the original lights have been tested however temporary tow lights have been added to the rear of the trailer so that it can be towed home safely.
Underbelly: Has the original enclosed aluminum underbelly which is in good condition has your typical oxidation but I do not see any holes or tears.
Window Glass/Seals: Has all of the original aluminum windows. There is no cracked missing or broken glass. All of the opening windows do you have screens. There are some windows with bad operators. All windows will need to be restored and new seals installed. Has the original front curved plexiglass windows with some minor scuffing and surface scratches but no cracks or holes. On one of these windows, the corner is popping out of the seal at the bottom and the other one has a small gap. I believe new seals will take care of both of these issues.
INTERIOR
The interior of this vintage Spartan is very original and very sweet. It has all the original appliances, all the original cabinetry and all the original lights are still intact. This is a 2 bedroom model with a mid and rear bedroom. This model has a nice big bathroom with the lavatory being in a separate area than the tub and toilet. So in other words, one person can be in the 60” bathtub and another person can be at the lavatory and they would each have privacy. It is obvious from the condition that this trailer has received a lot of tender loving care.
Cabinet - Closet Doors: Has all the original birch cabinet doors, closet doors and drawers and all are in good condition.
Catches: Original.
Countertops: Kitchen countertops are lime green with black specs and have matching backsplash. The back splash has some stains behind the stove from grease I would guess. These countertops are in very good condition and show very little wear. It has the original counter top in the middle bedroom which is above the chest of drawers. It has a gray and white marble pattern. These countertops are in good shape but the black T molding on the edge will need to be replaced. The bathroom has the same style countertop but has a light pink and white marble pattern. This countertop is in very good condition.
Floor: Floor is solid in all areas.
Floor Covering: Has newer carpet throughout which is in good condition and seems to be a very high quality carpet.
Table: Has a very cool vintage table with gray cracked ice top, wide fluted aluminum trim and chrome legs. The table is not original and does not have any chairs.
Unit Sleeps: There are currently two beds in the trailer which would sleep 2 persons each. A sofa bed could be added in the living room area to sleep additional persons.
Walls: Has the original birch paneling on the walls and ceiling which is in very nice condition. Most of the birch paneling still has a nice shine to it. There are some very minor water stains under a few of the windows and at front roof vent.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the exception of brand new tires and wheels. We pulled the grease caps on the axles and it looked like the grease was fresh so we did not inspect and repack the wheel bearings. We towed the trailer over 250 miles with no problems.
Axle/Springs: Has the original tandem axles with leaf spring suspension. These have surface rust but all appears to be good and solid.
Dry Weight: 6700#

Tire Conditions: Has four brand new 7:50-16LT 10 ply bias tires mounted on new non-split rims with six lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle.
FURNISHINGS
This trailer does come with some of the original furnishings.
Bed/Mattresses: Yes, has 75“ x 47“ bed with box springs and mattresses and bedspread in center bedroom. It has a 75“ x 53“ bed with box spring and mattress and bed spread in rear bedroom. Both mattresses are in nice shape.
Couch/Gaucho: No
Curtains: Has some curtains and some mini blinds.
Dinette Cushions: No
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical system. The breaker box has 4 automatic reset circuit breaker’s and all the wiring is high-quality copper wiring. Electrical system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
110 Volt Lights: Yes, has the original lights which are in working condition.
12 Volt Int. Lights: No
Brakes: Yes, it has electric brakes on both axles which are in working condition. Electric brakes have been re-wired with 12-2 wire between axles and to the front of the trailer.
Breakaway Switch: Yes. Has a brand new Tekonsha brand breakaway kit with battery.
Converter: No
Int. Fan(s): Yes, there is a interior fan over the range and in the bathroom. The fan over the stove does work but the fan in the bathroom just hums. It may just have a mud daubers nest in it that needs cleaned out or it could be more serious.
Plug for Ext. Lights: Has a brand new seven way plug. This is the same plug that most current RV’s use.
Porch Light: Yes. Has the original bell type porch light chrome does have some pitting. Light does work.
LP SYSTEM
Most of the original LP system is missing however most of these items should be upgraded for safety reasons so this is not a big issue. There are still some copper lines attached to the under belly of the trailer. LP system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Auto Changeover: No
Furnace: Yes. Has the original international brand fuel oil furnace. Un-tested.
Gas Bottle(s): No
Gas Light(s): No
Gas Regulator: Yes, there is a LP regulator and hose in the closet of the trailer.
Range/Oven: Yes. Has the original 30 inch Dixie gas range with four burners and a griddle on the top with oven below. Stove is complete with knobs, handles grates, etc. Top burners and oven do light.
Refrigerator: Yes. Has the original GE brand electric refrigerator. Refrigerator is complete with all shelves and vegetable bins. Refrigerator does get cold.
Water Heater: Yes. Has the original Skelgas brand gas water heater. Un-tested.
Water Heater - Gallons: 20 gallons I believe.
PLUMBING
Has the original plumbing with copper fresh water lines and brass and copper drain’s. I did a visual inspection and did not see any cracked missing or disconnected waterlines. We did not test the system with water. The previous owner said the water system worked and was winterized before it was put in storage for the Winter. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Air Pump: No
Fresh Water Tank: No, Spartan trailers were designed to be parked in a trailer park so no tanks came with any Spartans.
Kitchen Sink: Yes. Has the original to bowl kitchen sink. Porcelain is in good shape but does have a couple of areas that have been touched up.
Lavatory: Yes has the original pink lavatory which is in very good condition.
Sewer Holding Tank: No
Shower: Yes. Has a tub shower combo. Shower walls our original but are showing some wear. Has the original Adjusto brand faucet which swings up for the shower position and swings down for the tub position.
Toilet: Yes. Has the original Mansfield brand toilet. All the porcelain appears to be in good shape but I noticed the is duct tape on the back of the tank. Not sure what is going on there.
Tub: Has the original bathtub which is 30“ x 60“. The porcelain is in very good shape.
Waste Holding Tank: No
Water Intake Valve (City): Yes
Water Pump: No
SPECIAL
This trailer is in awesome condition for a unrestored trailer. It would make a great guest house or could be parked on a lake or river for a second home. For those who want to simplify their lives, it would also make a great primary residence. If you are looking for a nice large Spartan that will not need a lot of work, this one definitely fits the bill.
OTHER
This trailer was being used shortly before I purchased it. It has a lot of extras that go with the trailer. Items like a small TV, VCR player, kitchen utensils etc. We can do minor repairs or full restoration to this trailer or other vintage campers if you so desire.
