EXTERIOR
The exterior of this trailer is very nice. It has a few dents and dings but overall the exterior shell is very straight. It has the original doors, windows, and vents. This trailer is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability. It has aircraft grade aluminum that can be polished up to a mirror like shine.
Frame and A frame. There is a tiny rust hole on one side of the A-frame but I don’t feel this is anything that will cause issues. Otherwise the frame has surface rust but appears to be good and solid in all areas accessible for inspection.
Dents, scratches, and damage. There are some small dents on the very front of the trailer and one small patch. The only other exterior damage on this trailer is very small dents and dings.
Entry doors. Both of the entry doors are original and in decent shape. There is some dents and dings, mainly at the bottom of the doors. Both doors still have the original Bargman brand locks, which are in working order and we do have two keys. The doors do have original seals, which should be replaced.
Steps. This trailer has both original slide out steps for the doors, which are in working condition.
Front hoist. It has the original front hoist but it is froze up and needs replaced.
Hitch Coupler. It has the original hitch coupler, which is in working condition.
Roof. It has the original cambered roof. A cambered roof is a lot better than a flat roof because it sheds water better and can handle a heavier snow load in northern climates. The roof is extremely dirty but I do not see any apparent damage.
Screen doors. It has the original aluminum screen doors, which are in good condition. The front screen door has some holes in the screen.
Exterior lights. It has newer tail lights, which are very close to the original ones. It has all four of the original beehive style marker lights with glass lenses and new chrome bezels. All of the glass lenses appear to be in good shape. It has a new chrome license plate light with bracket which is like the original one. All exterior lights at the rear of the trailer are in working condition. The 2 front beehive marker lights are not currently working.
Underbelly. It has the original aluminum underbelly. It has your typical oxidation but is in decent shape overall. It does have some small holes in it but nothing major.
Windows. The front curved windows are original and in decent shape. They do have some scratches and signs of wear but they are not cracked. The front three windows do have new seals. It has three factory installed crank out jalousie windows, which are in working condition. The other windows are the original aluminum windows, which either have single or double panels that crank out. Most of the windows are complete with hardware. There are several that are missing some of the interior hardware and some of the upper operators are bad. There is no cracked, missing, or broken glass except for one of the upper windows in the rear bedroom. It has cracked glass. All windows have original seals, which should be replaced.
INTERIOR
The interior of this trailer is very nice for an un-restored trailer. This is a two bedroom model, which is very desirable. It still has the original oak bunk beds in the middle bedroom.
Cabinet and closet doors. They are original and in good shape.
Catches. Some of the catches are original and some have been replaced with newer hardware.
Countertops. Kitchen countertops have the original aqua countertops with matching backsplash. It has a cool vintage pattern and is in decent condition but is showing some wear from use. The countertop in the bathroom is a gray and white with a vintage pattern and matching backsplash. This countertop is in good condition.
Floor. The floor appears to be solid in all areas. A new piece of plywood has been installed in the front corner of the living room.
Floor covering. It has carpet throughout the trailer except for linoleum in the kitchen and tiles in the bathroom. All the flooring is in fair to good condition.
Table. Yes, it has a free standing table with two chairs in the dining area, which are in nice condition but are not original.
Unit sleeps. Currently there are three beds in the trailer. If a sofa bed were added in the front you could sleep up to six people.
Walls. It has the original Birch paneling on walls and ceiling. Most panels are in good condition and still even have a shine but there are a few panels that do have some water stains.
RUNNING GEAR
This trailer has the original running gear with the exception of brand new tires and wheels. The wheel bearings were sprayed with WD-40 and trailer was towed over 500 miles with no problems.

Hitch ball height. Approximately 20”.
Safety chains. No.
Hitch weight. Approximately 1012#.
Hitch ball size 2 5/16 inch.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No.
Tire condition. It has four brand new 7:50-16LT 10 ply bias tires mounted on new non-split silver rims.
FURNISHINGS
Beds. It has a 53“ x 75“ bed with mattress in rear bedroom. In the middle bedroom the upper bunk is 28“ x 74“ and the lower bunk is 42“ x 74“. All mattresses are in decent condition.
Couch. No.
Curtains. Yes most windows have curtains, which are in good condition.
Dinette cushions. No.
ELECTRICAL
It has the original electrical system however a new general electric circuit breaker box has been added, which has eight spaces plus the main. Spartan was a high-quality trailer, which used all copper wiring. All lights and outlets do work. Entire electrical system and appliances should be check by a certified expert before use.
110 V lights. Yes, it has most of the original lights but a few newer lights have been added.
12 V lights. No.
Brakes. Yes, it has brakes on both axles, which are in working condition. Breakaway switch. Yes, it has a brand new Tekonsha brand breakaway kit with battery.
Converter. No.
Interior fans. Yes. The fan over the stove does work but the one in the bathroom does not currently work.
Plug for exterior lights. Yes, it has a new seven way plug like most of the new RVs use.
Porch light. Yes, but it is not original. It is in working condition.
RV battery. No.
LP SYSTEM
Most of the original LP system is gone. However, most of these items should be replaced anyway for safety reasons. There is a LP rack for two bottles in the closet loose. Entire LP system and appliances should be check by a certified expert before use.
Automatic changeover. No.
Furnace. Yes, it has the original International brand gas furnace. It is untested.
Gas bottles. No.
Gas lights. No.
Gas regulator. Yes, it is in closet loose.
Range oven. Yes, it has the original Dixie 30 inch gas stove with four burners and griddle on top and oven underneath. The porcelain is in good condition and stove has all grates, knobs, and handles. All the burners of oven and stove did light when tested.
Refrigerator. Yes, it has a newer General Electric brand Refrigerator. We did plug it in and it does cool.
Water heater. Yes, it is untested. It holds 20 gallons.
PLUMBING
It has some of the original copper plumbing but has had some plastic plumbing added also. There are a few lines disconnected going to the tub so plan on doing a little plumbing work. Entire plumbing system and appliances should be check by a certified expert before use.
Air pump. No.
Freshwater tank. No.
Kitchen sink. Yes, it has the original two-bowl kitchen sink. The porcelain is in good condition but has been touched up in a couple of spots.
Lavatory. It has the original lavatory, which is in good condition but the porcelain has been touched up in a few areas.
Sewer holding tank. No.
Shower. Yes, it has a tub shower combo, but the waterlines to the tub are disconnected.
Toilet. Yes, it has the original Mansfield brand house type toilet. The toilet looks to be in good shape but is untested. There is a chip in the lid for the tank.
Tub. Yes, it is a tub shower combo.
Waste holding tank. No.
Water intake valve. Yes.
Water pump. No.
SPECIAL
This trailer has a very nice exterior and interior for an un-restored trailer. This trailer is small enough that it would be allowed in campgrounds, but large enough to have plenty of room. It would make a nice guest trailer or could be parked at the lake or river.
