EXTERIOR
The exterior of this trailer is very original and intact. It still has the original iconic wings that the Shasta is famous for. This trailer has been stored in a pole barn for the last 15 or so years so it is in much better condition than most I find.
Bumper, frame and A-frame. Has the 3 inch steel channel frame, which is boxed in critical areas. It has surface rust, but appears to be solid throughout. It has the 4” square steel bumper which the sewer hose can be stored in.
Compartment doors. Has a large rear compartment door which is storage for underneath the rear bed. One of the hinges is froze up and will need some work.
Dents, scratches and damage. Worst damage on the exterior is a small dent in front of the entry door. Other than that, there is only minor flaws, dents, and dings.
Entry door. Has the original entry door which is in good shape. Has the original Bargman L-66 lock which is in working condition and we do have one key door. Door will probably need new seals. Screen door. Has the original aluminum screen door, which is in good condition.
Step. Has the original slide out step which slides in and out fine but it does need re-welded to the outrigger in one area.
Front hoist. Has the original front hoist which is in working condition.
Hitch coupler. Has the original hitch coupler with 2 inch ball, which is in working condition.
Roof and vents. There is a small dent on the roof where it may be a tree branch dented it slightly. There is caulking around all of the original vents. Both roof vents crank up and down like they are supposed to.
Exterior lights. Has what appears to be the original exterior lights which still look to be in pretty decent condition. Has the original Auto Lamp brand tail lights, which are the wedding cake style. Lights lenses are still in decent condition. All tail lights, turn signals and brake lights work but some of the marker lights are not currently working.
Underbelly. Has the original underbelly, which is in decent condition.
Windows. Has the original jalousie windows. All window operators are good and in working condition and all opening windows do have screens.
INTERIOR
The interior of this vintage Shasta is very original, complete and intact. It is very obvious that this trailer has been well taken care of.
Cabinets & closet doors. Original and all are in good condition except for one cabinet door under refrigerator has some delamination.
Catches. Original.
Counter tops. Has the original Formica countertops which are white with the gold flecks. Countertop is in very good condition.
Floor. Has the original floor which is solid in all areas.
Floor covering. Has the original linoleum, which is still in nice shape.
Table. Has the original dinette table which also is white with gold fleck pattern. Table top is in good condition. Dinette table does fold down into a 39” x 79” sleeping area.
Unit sleeps. There is room for two adults and four children to sleep.
Walls. Has the original walls with a light colored paneling. There is some minor delamination around the roof vent and the rear window.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the exception of brand new tires and wheels. Wheel bearings were recently re-packed by previous owner.
Axle & springs. Has the original 4 inch dropped axle with leaf spring suspension. Axle has surface rust but everything appears to be good and solid.
Dry weight. 2500#
Hitch ball height. approximately 16 inches.
Safety chains. No.
Hitch weight. Approx. 250#
Hitch ball size. 2 inches.
Hubcaps. No.
Spare tire. No, but there is a spare rim located in the trunk area of the trailer.
Tires. Has brand new ST 205 75R 14 radial tires with a six ply rating. Tires are mounted on new silver spoke wheels with five lugs on 4 1/2 inch bolt circle.
FURNISHINGS
Bed mattresses. The rear gaucho or couch folds into a 48“ x 90“ sleeping area. The upper rear bunk folds down into a 39“ x 90“ sleeping area but there is currently no mattress.
Curtains. Yes.
Dinette cushions. Yes.
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical system. Has a GE brand box with automatic reset circuit breaker. All the 110 lights and outlets do work. Entire electrical system should be checked by a certified expert before use.
110 Volt lights. Yes, in working condition.
12 V lights. Yes. Has 2-12 V lights which are in working condition.
Brakes. Yes, has electric brakes which are in working condition.
Breakaway switch. No.
Converter. No.
Interior fans. No.
Plug for exterior lights. Yes, has four prong flat plug like most boat trailers use.
Porch light. Yes. Has what I believe is the original porch light which is in working condition.
RV battery. No.
LP SYSTEM
Yes, has what looks to be, the original LP system. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
Furnace. Yes. Has the original Duo-Therm furnace. The burners did light but they really need to be cleaned.
Gas bottles. Yes. Has 2-20 pound LP tanks which I do have the new OPD valves. However, there is currently no LP gas in the tanks.
Gas light. Yes.
Gas regulator. Yes.
Range oven. Yes. Has the original Holiday brand range with three burners on top and oven on bottom. We did light all burners and they did all work but again burners could stand to be cleaned. Refrigerator. Yes. Has the original Dometic brand gas-electric refrigerator, we plugged it into electric and it did cool well. Currently untested on gas.
Water heater. Yes. Has the original Atwood brand water heater which is gas only. All burners did light but burners do need to be cleaned. I believe it’s a 6 gallon water heater.
PLUMBING
Yes, has the original plumbing system with copper lines and PVC drains. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Air pump. No.
Freshwater tank. Yes has the original 30 gallon aluminum tank which is a pressurize system.
Kitchen sink. Yes. Has the original stainless steel kitchen sink which is in good condition. Also has the original faucet.
Sewer holding tank. Yes.
Shower. Yes.
Toilet. Yes.
Tub. No.
Waste holding tank. No.
Water intake valve. Yes.
Water system is untested.
SPECIAL
This vintage Shasta is a nice clean trailer which won’t take much work at all before you are out camping in it.
Stabilizer jacks. Yes. Has four of the tripod type jacks back in the trunk area.
Owners Manual. Yes, Has the original owners manual and the original papers on the appliances.
Also, it comes with a colored copy of an original brochure of the trailer.
