EXTERIOR
AVION was Airstream’s biggest competitor back in the day. They are a very high-quality trailer built with riveted construction for long life and durability. The exterior of this vintage Avion is mostly original and in pretty nice shape. It has the 13 panel and caps on the front and rear which are in very nice condition. This has the anodized aluminum exterior skin, which is much more maintenance free than a polish trailer.
Bumper, frame, and A-frame. This trailer has a 2“ x 6“ steel tube frame with the extra center frame rail, going down the very middle of the trailer. The front A-frame has some surface rust but all appears to be good and solid. The driver side frame rail has some severe rust behind the rear wheels and the driver side of the rear bumper is bent up.
Dents, scratches and damage. The worst damage is on the driver side bottom wraps, which has some oxidation and scrape marks. Otherwise the body is very straight and pretty much dent-free.
Entry door. Has the original aluminum entry door with riveted construction. Door is in very good shape, but is missing the door lock.
Screen door. Has the original aluminum screen door which is in very good shape. Top screen has a small hole in it.
Entry step. Yes, has the original entry step which is in good shape, but may need lubricated or adjusted as it slides in and out a little hard.
Front hoist. Yes. Has the original front hoist but it is rusted and froze up.
Hitch coupler. Has the original hitch coupler which is in working condition, but looks like it needs a new spring.
Roof. Looks to be in decent condition with no apparent damage.
Exterior lights. Has what appears to be the original exterior lights with some newer lenses. All original lights are untested. I would suggest having temporary tow lights added in the rear to tow it home safely.
Underbelly. Has the original aluminum underbelly, which is in good shape. Does have some very small holes and underbelly on passenger side rear is torn and dented up.
Windows. Has the original windows which are tinted plexiglass. One plexiglass panel is cracked. Windows have original seals, which should be replaced.
INTERIOR
The interior is mostly original, but in pretty rough shape.
Cabinet and closet doors. Yes, original .
Catches. Yes, original.
Countertops. Yes, has original countertops which are in pretty decent condition.
Floor. Floor is shot and will need replaced. There are several soft spots throughout.
Floor covering. Linoleum in poor condition.
Table. Has the original dropleaf table which is in poor condition.
Unit sleeps. 4-5.
Walls. Has the original aluminum walls with vinyl coating. Walls are still in pretty nice condition.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear with the Mor-Ryde suspension. We pulled this trailer approximately 200 miles with no issues. If traveling a longer distance, I would recommend having the bearings inspected and re-packed.
Dry weight. 5065#
Hitch ball height. Approximately 17 inches.
Safety chains. Yes.
Hitch Weight. 575#
Hitch Ball Size. 2-5/16"
Hubcaps. Yes. Has all 4 of the original hubcaps.
Spare tire. Yes.
Tire condition. Tires have lots of weather checking but tubes have been added so that they will all hold air good. Tires are 7:00 x 15 LT mounted on original non-split rims which are six lugs on 5 1/2 inch bolt circle.
FURNISHINGS
There is no couch or cushions or curtains in this trailer.
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical system. We plugged the trailer in and some of the lights did work and all of the electrical outlets did work. Entire electrical system should be checked by a certified expert before use.
110 V lights. No.
12 V lights. Yes. Some work some don’t.
Brakes. Yes, has electric brakes on the trailer, but are untested.
Converter. Yes,Does have a converter in the trailer and some of the 12 V lights did work so the converter is obviously working.
RV battery. No. But does have the original battery box on the front of the trailer by the A-frame.
LP SYSTEM
Most of the original LP system is missing but these items should be replaced for safety reasons anyway. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use.
Furnace. Yes. Has the original Suburban furnace, which is untested.
Gas bottles. No.
Gas lights. No.
Gas regulator. There is a gas regulator with LP pigtails in trailer loose.
Range / Oven. Yes, has the original Magic Chef range with oven on bottom and four burners on top. untested.
Refrigerator. No.
Water heater. Yes. Has the original Atwood brand gas water heater, which is untested. Gallons. Six.
PLUMBING
Has the original copper fresh waterlines and original ABS drain lines. Plumbing is untested. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Fresh water tank. No.
Kitchen sink. Yes, has the original two bowl stainless steel sink which is in good condition.
Lavatory. Yes, has the original fiberglass lavatory, which is in poor condition.
Sewer holding tank. Yes.
Shower. Yes. Has a tub shower combo.
Toilet. Yes. Has the original Thetford Aqua Magic toilet. Untested.
Waste holding tank. No.
Water intake valve. Yes.
Water pump. No.
Air conditioning. Yes. Has a Coleman brand roof air conditioner. Untested.
Stabilizer jacks. Yes ,it has four crank down frame mounted stabilizers, but the one on the passenger side rear is all bent up.

MISC.
This trailer will need some TLC but for the handyman or woman who can do the work themselves, they could end up with a really nice trailer without spending a fortune.
