EXTERIOR
The exterior of this trailer is very original and complete. This trailer is built like an airplane with riveted construction for long life and durability.
Bumper, frame and a frame. The A-frame has surface rust but both side rails seem to be solid. The center rail of the A-frame (which most trailers do not even have) is rusted out on the bottom and the rear bumper is very rusty with holes and will need replaced. I hammered on all areas of the main frame (where assessable) before I bought this trailer because the frame appeared very rusty but I did not find any holes or soft areas in the frame rails. The steel angles (brackets) that originally held the sewer holding tank at the rear of the trailer is very rusty and deteriorated.
Compartment doors. Has an outside compartment door for storage under one of the beds. Door is in good shape but the hinges on the bottom need replaced. We do have a key.
Dents, scratches and damage. The worst dent on this trailer as at the very front and behind the LP tanks. Other than that, there are some minor scratches.
Entry door. Has the original aluminum entry door which is in fair to poor condition. The original lock is missing and the hinges are in bad shape. There have been hasps added to the door also.
Screen door. No.
Step. Has the original Avion step which is in fair condition but looks like it needs some work.
Front Hoist. Has a 5000 pound top wind hoist which is in working condition.
Hitch coupler. Has the original hitch coupler. I had no problems towing this over 300 miles but personally I don’t like this type of coupler.
Roof. Has the original roof which has had roof coating put on it. I do not see any obvious damage.
Exterior lights. Has most of the original exterior lights which are untested but temporary LED tow lights have been added in the rear so that it can be towed home safely. Underbelly. Has the original underbelly on 3/4 of the trailer. There are some oxidation holes and loose panels the rear quarter of the trailer. Is missing the underbelly where the holding tanks were and the holding tank steel brackets are very rusty with lots of rust holes.
Windows. Windows all appear to be original. One top section has had the glass replaced with plexiglass and there are some operators that are stripped out. There is no broken cracked or missing glass and all windows have old seals which should be replaced.
INTERIOR
Interior is not in bad shape but most of the original appliances are missing.
Cabinet and closet doors. Yes, the cabinet over one of the banks has been cut down for more headroom, other are all there and in decent shape.
Catches. Yes. Original.
Countertops. Has the original wood grain countertops in fair condition.
Floor. Floor seems to be solid in all areas but it is sort of hard to tell in the back of the trailer because there is carpet with thick padding.
Floor covering. There is carpet in the back and newer wood or wood laminate in the front.
Table. Yes. Has the original dropleaf table.
Unit sleeps. Room for up to six persons . This model had the canvas bunks that went above the twin beds. The brackets and poles are there but needs new canvas.
Walls. Has the original walls which are aluminum with vinyl laminate and appear to be in good condition.
RUNNING GEAR
Has the original running gear. We pulled the grease caps off and there was adequate grease so we tow the trailer for an hour then checked the hubs and everything stayed nice and cool.
Axles and springs. Has the original axles and suspension which is a very unique set up but personally I don’t know much about them.
Dry weight. 5090#
Hitch ball height. Approximately 18 inches.
Safety chains. Yes.
Hitch weight. Approximately 510#
Hitch ball size. 2 5/16 inch.
Hubcaps. Yes. Has all four of the original hubcaps.
Spare tire. Yes. Has a spare tire and wheel tire which is in fair condition.
Tire condition. Has ST225-75R 15 radial tires mounted on the original six lug rims with 5 1/2 inch bolt circle. Previous owner said tires were only about three or four years old. I do not see any weather checking on the tires and they still have good tread.
FURNISHINGS
Bed mattress. Has 76“ x 33“ twin beds with brackets and poles for canvas bunks above.
Couch gaucho. Yes. Has the original gaucho in the front Upholstery has several holes. Curtains. Yes. Some.
ELECTRICAL
Has the original electrical system with a 30 amp plug and a Cutler Hammer brand breaker box with four automatic reset circuit breakers. Entire electrical system and appliances should be check by a certified expert before use.
110 V light. No.
12 V lights. Yes. Most are in working condition.
Brakes. Trailer does have electric brakes but they are untested.
Breakaway switch. Yes. Untested.
Converter. Yes. In working condition.
Interior fans. Yes. Fan at range hood is in working condition, trailer has other two fans which are currently not working.
Plug for exterior lights. Yes. Has both a four prong flat for the temporary lights plus the original seven way plug.
Porch light. Yes.
RV battery. No.
LP SYSTEM
It looks like all of the LP system is there and intact. Has aluminum LP tanks which is nice. Entire LP system and appliances should be checked by a certified expert before use
Automatic change over. No.
Furnace. No.
Gas bottles. Yes. Has 2 - 30 pound aluminum LP tanks which do have the new valves. Gas light. Yes. Untested
Gas regulator. Yes.
Range oven. Yes, has the original Magic Chef stove with four burners on top and oven below. Untested.
Refrigerator. No.
Water heater. Yes. Has the original Atwood Bowen gas water heater. Untested.
Gallons. 6 gallons.
PLUMBING
Has the original plumbing system with copper freshwater lines and ABS drains. I did a visual inspection and did not see any disconnected cracked or swollen lines but we did not put water in the system. Plumbing system and all appliances should be checked by certified expert before use.
Air pump. No.
Freshwater tank. Yes.
Kitchen sink. Yes. Has the original 2 bowl stainless steel kitchen sink which is in good condition.
Lavatory. Yes has the original olive green lavatory which is in very good condition no chips in porcelain.
Sewer holding tank. No.
Shower. Yes. Has a tub shower combination.
Toilet. No.
Tub. Yes. Has the original olive green fiberglass tub which appears to be in good condition.
Waste holding tank. Yes. But looks like the dump valves are missing.
Water intake valve. Yes.
Water pump. Yes. Has the original PAR brand pump.
SPECIAL
For the man or woman who can do the work themselves this could be a really awesome trailer without spending major bucks.
OTHER
Air-conditioning. Yes. Untested.
Awning. No.
Stabilizer jacks. Yes, has four of the freestanding tripod type aluminum stabilizer jacks. TV antenna. Yes. Has a Skyliner brand TV antenna on the roof. The interior handle is missing but these are still available.
MISC.
Dolly wheel. No
Equalizer bars. Yes.
Hitch head. Yes. Has an adjustable hitch head which will work on most vehicles. Owners manual. No.
Owners paperwork. Yes, has a lot of the original paperwork.
Sway control. Yes. Has the dual cam sway control that works in existence with the equalizer bars.
