Product Description
NOTE: This window will fit most but not all 1946 Spartan Manors so please read entire description before purchasing. NOTE THESE WINDOWS ARE ON ORDER.
On 1946 Spartan Manors, the curvature of the window changed from their first production trailers to their later ones. At exactly what serial # they changed, we do not know.
We have installed these windows in Spartan Manors with serial# 46-2967 and 46-3207 and they worked fine. So we are very confident that they will work on any 1946 spartan Manor with serial number higher than 46-1118. We have sold these windows to several customers with 1946 Spartan Manors with serial #'s higher than 25-46-1118 and they have worked fine. The lowest serial Number that we have ran into, in which these windows worked was #25-46-257.
However, if your serial # is lower than 46-1118, we can send you a cardboard template which shows the curvature of the windows we produce, just to be on the safe side. You can hold the template up to the outside of your trailer and if the curvature is the same, our windows will work on your Spartan. If the curvature is different, our windows will not work.
New front curved window to replace those cracked, missing or worn out plexiglass windows. This window is custom made from UV stabilized polycarbonate not Acrylic, which is inferior and easily cracks. Polycarbonates are high-molecular weight, amorphous engineering thermoplastics that have exceptionally high-impact strength over wide temperature range. It is characterized by an excellent combination of toughness, transparency, heat and flame resistance and dimensional stability. Humidity changes have little effect on dimension or properties of molded polycarbonate parts. The insulating and other electrical characteristics of polycarbonate are excellent and they are generally unaffected by greases, oils and acids. Window may have minute air bubbles and scuffs, which are barely visible and do not distract from the overall appearance of the window. Window may have a slight distortion or wavyness on the very outside edge of the window. This is from handling the polycarbonate in order to put it in the mold once it is heated to its forming temperature. Most of this distortion will be cut off when the windows are trimmed to size. This is produced approximately 2" larger than the original windows, so they can be used on either side and must be cut to size for your trailer. We have found that the original windows may vary in size as much as 1/4". For that reason, we cannot produce a one size fits all window, they all must be cut down to fit your specific trailer. Sold Each. These window are .177" thick which is thicker than the original windows which were only .125" thick. Windows may have very minor scratches, scuffs or blemishes from manufacturing process.
We do not offer a gasket for this window. The original gasket was a U-shaped rubber gasket but it did not do a good job keeping the water out. That is why for 1947 they totally re-designed how these windows go into the trailer. We recommend cutting the window to the correct size then using black 100% silicon to seal the windows.
Note: the display image for this window is not a new window, it is just showing the type of curved window a 1946 Spartan has.
