This is a new reproduction Woodlin style window lever catch which is made from stainless steel. The original catches were made of flimsy aluminum and were easily bent or broken. This catch holds the window lever so that the window stays in the shut position. We also offer the Woodlin 8" window lever made from stainless steel if you want to upgrade your original aluminum ones. Part # is CHW136
